10 Ironmans taught me more about life than my 6 figure degree.
One thing I learned, pain is the ultimate teacher.
Here are the 10 lessons I learned on why you need to choose pain in a world addicted to safety and comfort:
@GregLehman They wont work in isolatⁿ, your quad will also be part of the compensatⁿ & the abdominals will be working to stabilise the pelvis while the quad & tib ant,& toe extensors compensate to create hip flexⁿ I see this pattern all the time with patients presenting with foot issues
@nbrez Niall you could be a Jaw driver, jaw drivers get issues such as migraines, headaches, neck pain, jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, tinnitus or even vertigo.
@lizbayleyphysio recently been readin up on importance of iodine fr the support of the thyroid which is responsible fr our hormone balance Researchers say 90% of people they test are seriously deficient in iodine. Iodine in sufficient doses hve anti cancer properties for breasts, ovaries prostate
@DrNadiaChaudhri I have recently been reading up on Iodoral as a supplement. It is a mix of iodine and iodide which has anti cancer properties for ovaries, breast and prostate glands. Most people are seriously deficient in iodine. We need to be taking 100x RDA for our thyroid to be healthy
Hip mobility before, mid session and post treatment. This young athlete has been suffering with stiffness for a couple of years now. In this 1hr session I treated him using BeActivated technique. @DouglasHeel
@GregLehman I test hip mobility for every patient I see. The hip is the most prioritised joint in the body as its where our gait/movement is initiated. Hip mobility always gives me a good marker for how efficient a person is moving. Poor hip mobility indicates a body in compensation.
Love these postural shifts achieved by getting the diaphragm, psoas and glutes engaging. Photos taken 30mins apart 🤩 he looks awesome

@JFvS89@AdamMeakins The shoulder is not a very congruent joint, so IMO that's why a dysfunctional shoulder is more prone to stiffness than other more congruent joints.
I.e In an attempt to make it feel safe the body sticks it down to stabilise it and protect it from further damage.
Was discharged from physio after 4/12's of 2x weekly rehab sessions following ORIF for # humerus and was told by surgeon there was nothing more that could be done.
She came to me 1 month ago here are before and after pics, she has had 4 sessions using the Beactivated approach
@AdamMeakins I ask about stress levels and sleep patterns, if one or both are suffering then they'll normally open up about it when you pull that thread.
@SquatUniversity Vulnerable parts of our body seize up. You need to get the foundations right first, if you have back pain then you can guarantee your glutes are not firing optimally, glutes should support the back and if they're not the erector spinae, QLs will tighten to provide false stability
69yr old Male has suffered back pain 40yrs due to a motorbike RTA. Posture declining ever since. Photos taken 30mins apart after a zone 1 activation session 🙌 #BeActivated#breathe#glutepower#openandexpand
