@scotland_xg It’s 74 all over again. Was obvious to all that Morocco and Brazil were tough games, and that you’d probably lose both. So the chance to get the GD up was v Haiti. A 3-0 win there provides you so much more rope.

@SligoBrian1994 When I played Sunday league, I played with a 50yo former step 1 player. Even at 50, the guy dominated the pitch comfortably and never left the centre circle. Put it into perspective for me!

I accept they were #9&10 in level of star power and importance to the match - but they drew the crowd 🤷🏻

So in 96 when WR was £15m, a £9m player would be 60% of WR. Current WR is £200m, 60% of that is £120m. So a £9m purchase in 96 would be £120m now.
