التقى سعادة الشيخ سعود بن عبدالرحمن بن حسن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الدولة لشؤون الدفاع، سعادة السيد ديفيد ماكغينتي وزير الدفاع الوطني الكندي، والوفد المرافق له، وذلك خلال زيارته إلى دولة قطر.

جرى خلال اللقاء استعراض آخر المستجدات والتطورات الأمنية في المنطقة، وبحث أوجه التعاون العسكري والتنسيق المشترك في ظل الظروف الراهنة.

حضر اللقاء عدد ��ن كبار الضباط والمسؤولين من الجانبين.

The reason that 1,000 Canadian troops are deployed to Latvia is simple: an attack on one @NATO ally is an attack on us all.

Canadian troops are leading 10+ countries to protect Latvia – and NATO as a whole.

I discussed this with Latvia’s Defence Minister @AndrisSpruds today.

A memorable day for Latvia and @NATO. For the first time NATO Air Policing is carried out from the Lielvārde Air Base. We are grateful to all Allies who have contributed their forces to this mission shielding NATO airspace and protecting our people. The air domain is essential for Allied deterrence and defence. The ability to carry out the mission from multiple locations clearly shows that NATO’s Integrated Air and Missile defence can be agile, swift and credible in defending our airspace. Thank you @Team_Luftwaffe for your contribution in safeguarding peace in the Baltic region.
