@HolyPost_Media@philvischer I unequivocally (and perhaps ironically) am certain that being uncertain will certainly lead to better questions, whereas being certain shuts down the brain's natural curiosity...once something is cataloged, we move on.
@DavidAFrench The question isn't about the overwhelming hypocrisy that exists on both sides...it's what am I willing to ignore in order to retain power and privilege.
@sandygarman@MattSmethurst@ToddAdkins When I heard this quote, it was in the context of intentionally developing disciples of Christ who eventually do move on (for a variety of reasons) or we move on (also for a variety of reasons). The blessed goodbye is necessary to embrace in mobilized ministries.
@BreitbartNews@elonmusk the government already takes money by force...income tax, sales tax, capital gains, etc. if you don't think so, don't pay your taxes and find out. lol
@tmshrout@BigDaddyK25@mcowartlaw@DerwinLGray Still not answering a key question...what gives you the chutzpah to have such a narrow view on the Gospel? I've been studying this for decades. Have a master's degree and am almost finished with my doctorate. Pray tell what in your background has informed your conclusions?
@edstetzer I was saying this just the other day. My congregation can hear from 100 different pastors on the internet who have a wide following due to charisma (not biblical charisma), and have zero accountability to the local body they are speaking to. And have disorthodox views.
@tmshrout@BigDaddyK25@mcowartlaw@DerwinLGray Maybe can you answer my question? No one is suggesting equal outcome; but suggesting we treat our neighbor as ourself is biblical, gospel, and Christlike. Again, what are your credentials for holding such a hostile stance towards those in need?
@tmshrout@BigDaddyK25@mcowartlaw@DerwinLGray I have recently preached through the Sermon on the Mount. I'm curious, what are your credentials to be so dogmatic regarding what is and is not good gospel?
@tmshrout@BigDaddyK25@mcowartlaw@DerwinLGray However, if your neighbor is brown, you still need to love them. If your neighbor is brown, you ought to help them achieve the same things you have. Exchange any socio-ethnic background for brown, and it remains the same. The gospel means love your neighbor as yourself.
@tmshrout@BigDaddyK25@mcowartlaw@DerwinLGray Love God & Love your neighbor as yourself. To love your neighbor as yourself, you should want them to have the same things you have: the same freedoms, rights, and privileges. You shouldn't excuse harm to them due to the color of their skin. Social gospel? Or just gospel?
