After more than 26 years, I have asked the source of a newspaper story I wrote about Moors Murderer Ian Brady to come forward.

My source, whose name is no secret to the authorities, offered to come forward more than 20 years ago, however I took it upon myself to shoulder the issue.

To be clear - I was genuinely interested in how prescient he had been on coronaviruses, and expected to be impressed.
