NEW: 📢 Important McCloud RPSS & RSS deadline updates released by the Minister this week (yes more delays folks! 😤)
https://t.co/jBbU1ihSUW
NHSBSA plan has been revised (read delayed 🔴) to:
• Retired members whose remedy period (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2022) benefits are still affected by the discrimination identified by the McCloud judgment - in that some or all of the accrual for that period is 2015 Scheme accrual - should receive their remedy choice by the end of December 2027
• Retired members whose remedy period benefits are no longer affected by this discrimination – in that all of their accrual for the period is 1995/2008 Scheme accrual – should receive their remedy choice by the end of June 2030
• All active and deferred members who are due a remedial pension saving statement should have received this by the end of March 2027.
It’s unclear to me from the statement whether this includes many thousands of GPs who don’t even have complete records yet (largely thanks to Capita 🤦), so they are not even in NHSBSA's calculation queue.
If you are lucky enough to have received your RPSS and don’t know what to do? Simple steps:

It’s disappointing that @HealthwatchE don’t understand the funding. The further £300m is not new money. It is used now to pay for staff , tech ….
If they represent the patient interest they need to be more critical of the spin rather than simply amplify it.

The new GP contract promises to 'fix the front door', giving same day access to all and save GP from the brink...
What could go wrong??

A move of funding from PCN to practice is good & had been pressed for. But that should have been ARRS money not CAP. This will change funding in a negative way. A clear example of those in ivory towers having no idea of the consequences. Right ambition , wrong delivery
NEW, IMPORTANT (shocking, but sadly not suprising):
Confirmation only 12 days before the SA deadline that NHSBSA are not sending any more PSS out and you are expected to "estimate and file" and "HMRC won't penalise you for filing an estimate, provided it's a genuine attempt. You can amend your return later when you have exact figures."
Pls share widely/RT
Another milestone - we now have over 1,500 followers on social media, and we are still counting. Thank you to all our followers for your support. We hope you are inclined to follow the wealth of tips and advice #AISMA brings you
My invite to the GP contract review got lost in the post so for those invited here is what you need to consider 👇 @SKinnock@doctor_katie@DrSteveTaylor@rankine@VictoriaTzB@NHSEngland …. 1. Don’t launch single neighbourhood contracts without agreeing the GP practice one 👇
@Azeem_Majeed All organisations asked to be involved need to ask 1. Are we clear what is asked of us 2. Is it within the remit of what we do 3. Do we understand GP finance & contracts 4. Do we have the skills in house to do this … if any of those are “no” then they should step down
1/2 The #Budget brings little cheer for GP partners facing huge uncertainty under the NHS 10 Year Plan, warns #AISMA adviser Andy Pow. Many may work fewer sessions due to a tax threshold freeze until 2031 and losing their tax free personal and childcare allowances
Another day another AI tool trying to tell you all about your NHS pension. It’s failed on the first simple question I asked it. Top tip - if you want to understand your pension speak to an expert not a bot. Not a lie just not 100% correct and I wouldn’t leave it to chance
#AISMA’s poll revealing leading accountants are uncertain about how their GP practice clients will benefit from England’s 10 Year Health Plan certainly hit the headlines! A big thanks to everyone who took part

Specialist medical accountants are uncertain about how their GP practice clients will benefit from the government's 10-year health plan for England:
https://t.co/3rx3xlk4P5
“General practice has long been a Neighbourhood Health Service, so any move to support the shift of services away from hospitals to the community is welcomed," says #AISMA adviser Andy Pow. But questions over funding, contracts and structure remain.

New neighbourhood centres … 30k population equals over 2000 buildings. Cost probably several £million a building (latest big ones cost upwards of £5m). Rent needed to fund private investment will be c £700m per year if all £5m. It ain’t going to happen !
Wondering what specialist medical accountants get up to when they leave the office?
We’ve had 200 of them at the #AISMAconference, learning from a fantastic panel of healthcare leaders, legal and estates experts and some of the biggest brains in accounts, tax and pensions!
Today we’re saying goodbye to founder member Deborah Wood, who is stepping down as #AISMA Chairman.
Thank you, Debbie, for your huge contribution to the association over the years and our very best wishes for the future.
