Powerful start to a new academic year. Bringing all staff together for an instructionally coached, breakfast practice. Teaching, pastoral, support. We’re driving culture and shared language across the entire academy!
Such a pleasure to organise this for colleagues. Projects during ECT Y2 are designed as an investment, giving colleagues the opportunity to gain an insight into how their careers can progress and to further their development.
ECT Y2s delivered to colleagues their leadership projects. A brilliant opportunity for them to showcase their hard work and for colleagues to celebrate their accomplishments. Many insights were given on how their work directly impacted our student body. Well done!
We’re filming an outstanding instructional coaching session today so we have a model of expert coaching to support new and existing coaches. We want to drive the quality of coaching delivered to promote rapid improvements in those being coached!
“However much you feel you need to plan for the future, to anticipate it, to mitigate risks, the reality of your life is now.
Even when we think we’re in the present moment, we’re, in very subtle ways, always looking over its shoulder, anticipating what’s coming next.” - SH
Intentionally practising exit routines tonight, using an instructional model of course! Using precise praise during this routine ensures we frame our students with their best behaviour encouraging this to be transferred into transition and their next lesson.
@MrsBallAP@Steplab_co Thank you for your time today. A fantastic insight into how an instructional coaching model can be rolled out whole school. The benefits are clear to see, with all colleagues collaboratively striving for excellence in the classroom!
This week in CPD, we are looking at the introduction of new knowledge!
We believe it is essential that staff have the opportunity to contextualise evidence informed practices for their curriculum areas to ensure the evidence works for them and their students.
We truly value lesson starts; our PCD routine ensures all students are given a consistent and positive start to all lessons. Deliberately practising this routines enables all to manage cognitive load, student and teacher, promoting success at all levels! ⭐
Here at TAG we collaboratively strive for excellence in the classroom!
Here, we are deploying an instructional coaching model to deliberately practise whole class assessment for learning and frontloading means of participation.
This evening I got to sit in on an ECT coaching conversation. The level of coaching was of such a high quality - instructional coaching completed at its finest. Precise, specific model; deep reflective questioning and rigorous deliberate practise. This ECT was making progress!
I am immensely proud of the work we continue to do for our ECTs at @TrinityAcademyG and appreciate the work of Sabrina Francis, mindset and leadership coach. 3/3
We continue to go above and beyond for our ECTs at TAG. Implementing coaching development sessions to foster efficient coaching convos which will support rapid improvement in our ECTs. 1/3
Coaching development session #2 - developing powerful, active listening and deep reflective questioning. Contributing significantly here to the coaches tool box to elicit responsive coaching, making sure the ECT’s needs are addressed and their insights understood! 2/3
An unbelievable follow up to @PepsMccrea’s first evidence snack on establishing the process is Atomic Habits by James Clear. An absolute game changing book that harnesses the power of identity and processes!
Our in house CPD is (in my humble opinion) bloody brilliant. Thanks to @RobLLD and his partner in crime Lucianne for the highlight of my day today. #teamTAG#cpd#oracy#EAL
