My dad was a paramedic for 35 years. He wanted to volunteer to be part of the vaccine roll-out; to do his bit for the national effort. But because he hasn’t got two A-levels, he is ineligible. I repeat: he was a paramedic for 35 years. What an absolute farce.

@Einsbor @FplMode I never make early transfers but I did it this evening. There’s a .2 swing at least and it’s the most obvious transfer in the world for me.

@LetsTalk_FPL You said on your video that overthinking is just thinking. But I think this classifies as overthinking! Don’t over-complicate it. Your gut instinct is normally to be trusted.

All things considered, that was a very impressive result and a thoroughly enjoyable performance. It’s amazing what a proper formation does to a football team… The boys did good! #ENG

@AyJayL Not sure there’s anything subconscious about that video. Clearly he’s had a run-in with Klopp. If that means his integrity has been compromised then he’s finished as a referee.

Trump made significant gains across all demographics, many of whom he spent time demonising or even threatening to deport. How on earth does anyone rationalise something that is so irrational? America is a deeply divided country. Trump, in my view, will only widen this divide.

The US has voted for a convicted felon whose former chief of staff described as a fascist and whose running mate once called ‘America’s Hitler.’ Unimaginable in most liberal democracies, but Trump’s an enigma for whom there’s no historical playbook. Sometimes, analysis is futile.

@cokkbeard @SamAS91_ I think GON is the ideal coach to stabilise a failing side, as he did with us and last season at Wolves. He’s well organised and structured. But he’s not someone who is going to take a club to the next level, which I suspect the hierarchy at Wolves will realise.

@GuyN72 @afcbpodcast My dad and I were on the row in front, just to the left. So close, in fact, that after watching the vlog my dad commented he couldn’t believe he was so grey and his bald spot was so big!

Remember last season when Aston Villa beat Arsenal and Man City in back-to-back home games, and the entire football media couldn’t stop praising them and their manager?

Yeah, I’m still waiting…. #afcb

@RussInCheshire The only certainty is that Trump will claim victory whatever the result, as he did in 2020. If he loses, there’ll be scenes echoing January 6; probably worse.

It’s always hard to compare eras, particularly for a club that’s come such a long way in a relatively short space of time. But that was the best performance, result and atmosphere for as long as I can remember. Dean Court was rocking. What a time to be alive! #afcb

Best half of football we’ve played against City. Solid defensively, quick in the press and creative in attack. Deservedly ahead. A fantastic watch so far #afcb

Watched The Book of Mormon yesterday, for the third time. It won’t be to everyone’s taste (it’s easy to tell by the gasps, who in the audience hasn’t seen it before), but it’s comfortably the best musical I’ve been to. Religious satire at its most cutting and thought-provoking.

@GuyN72 I’m probably selling him. Guaranteed hat-trick!

I find it so hard to pick a favourite episode of Inside No 9. But A Quiet Night In, from series one, is genius. And since it’s a silent episode, it surely can’t be a coincidence that Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter has a part in it.

[Rob Meech @RobMeech]

@FlapjackFpl Hoping he’s fine; if not I’ll probably be selling TAA to fund Saka (who I sold for Palmer last week..)

Just knocked more than a minute off my 10k PB. Turning 40 really isn’t so bad.

@bmay If Alan Partridge talked about the Bible, this is what he’d say!
