Robo Umps Now

The home plate umpire is not in the best position to call balls & strikes. Often his view of home plate is blocked. Let's help them out. We have the technology.

@tangotiger Count starts at 3-2 😉

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@Clacombbraves @tangotiger You really think a majority of people would go for this bizarre suggestion?

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@tangotiger Don't required a starting pitcher to go 5 innings to qualify for a win.

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@mattnahigian @Svenishness Why move up? To possibility make a throw to another base.

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@mattnahigian @Svenishness 1. He was going to be safe regardless.
2. However, It would have looked much better if he had kept a foot on the bag and stretched for the catch.
3. As a fielder you can feel when the throw will be late, and then you may instinctively move up to get the ball sooner.

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@tangotiger Yeah, so just let ABS make every call

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@theaceofspaeder No, goofball. Then when it's 51/49 you'll want to move the goalposts again. There will always be a line somewhere.

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@UmpScorecards How wild will it be when umps have their most accurate year ever? 😆

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@Michael6056047 @leonline2000 @BaseballQuotes1 Lol, no. That play was close

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@djxgam1ng @netflixsports @MLB The pitch location video they show after every ABS challenge

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@YadiGoat @MLB @TMobile Spoken like a true ump

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@MLB @TMobile Why didn't the broadcast show this graphic? Isn't that the whole point? The Netflix broadcast has been unimpressive. Ad showing over players. Nice /s

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@netflixsports @MLB Your broadcast has left A LOT to be desired

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@pa_coyote94151 @PitchingNinja @grok Were they consecutive as OP claims?

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@Twisted_Systems @PitchingNinja They could do that. They've demonstrated it. Baseball wanted the "drama" of the challenge.

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@ryn858 @PitchingNinja No, they should just let ABS make every call

[Robo Umps Now @RoboUmpsNow]

@UmpScorecards More evidence that this is a difficult job for any human. Time to let technology assist in ball/strike calls. Soon.

[Glue Guy Sports @GlueGuy_Sports]

#2. Strike 1, Strike 2, Strike 3. Sit down.
