Right now WIWA seems to have big ties to Legendaries and themes of past Pokémon games.
Sun/Solgaleo & Moon/Lunala: The sun heats the planet and that heat is what causes storms, while the moon through its gravitational pull controls the oceans tides. Winds and Waves.
Tied to that is Gold/Ho-Oh and Silver/Lugia. Those games could’ve literally been called Sun and Moon if they had a more modern naming scheme. GS introduced the day/night cycle and in reality much of the game was about that mechanic.
Then of course we have the weather trio: WIWA are apparently games that focus on weather, diverse environments, and forces of nature. Sound familiar?
Rayquaza and Kyogre specifically could match the powers/purpose of the Winds and Waves Legendaries. While the Seed and/or 3rd Legendary could match Groudon’s “Earth”(Volcanic) purposes.
Lastly to stretch a bit more into theory.
If the WIWA legendaries are both Gods of weather, then they are different from the weather trio and more like Dialga & Palkia.
And IF they are two similar Naga serpents with different armor and different views/elements that clash (sea & sky), then they could fit Gen5, Gen8, and Gen9’s legendaries too.
All this to say that maybe, for the 10th Gen and the 30th anniversary, they wanted to bring all the legendary themes back together… or they will just focus on a few of these as WIWA seems to be a mix of SM, RSE and maybe SV.
Or of course as per usual they could just take all of these connections in a different direction and do something similar but in a different way!
⚔️ New Balance Changes in Pokémon Champions! ⚔️
A fresh wave of move updates is here, shaking up the battlefield:
🌿 Sceptile now gains access to Earth Power, giving it valuable Ground-type coverage.
🦂 Scolipede picks up both Leech Life and Trailblazer, adding recovery and extra utility to its toolkit.
👊 Annihilape can no longer use Final Gambit, removing one of its high-risk options.
😈 Grimmsnarl loses False Surrender and Thunder Wave, reducing both its offensive and support capabilities.
🥋 Scrafty no longer learns Parting Shot, limiting its pivoting potential.
🐡 Overqwil loses access to Mortal Spin, cutting back on its hazard control options.
🤖 Metagross can no longer learn Heavy Slam, changing some of its coverage choices.
Which of these changes do you think will have the biggest impact on the meta? 🔥
This new Pokémon Champions regulation will last for 3 seasons (and they already added all data for the upcoming 3 seasons to the game lol).
That means no new Pokémon or items will be added again until September.
⚡ Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y make their Pokémon GO debut in Super Mega Raids!
✨ Increased Shiny chance
⚡ Raichu caught from Super Mega Raids will have Mega Level 1 unlocked
