@TheDailyShow Never cared for the conceit of “These are bad throwaway” jokes. The reality is, with proper delivery and couched in a broader message, these can be great jokes. Or at least the ‘sauce’ that goes on the meat of a segment. I wouldn’t devalue the work with this sort of delivery.

@MarindaVannoy1 Tariffs are a tool that can be used to do what you’re saying, but they need to be combined with investments in the industries back home. They’re not. So nobody is blankly against tariffs, they ARE against a horrible and ineffective use of them

@MarindaVannoy1 He put tariffs on products that we have never and will never make in the U.S. … think minerals that we don’t mine, crops we can’t grow. No amount of tariffs would ever allow us to find our own Cobalt underground. So they’re completely ineffective.

@eiynej @Som91x @GianmarcoSoresi 3 and 4 are repeats… and 1 and 2 are just what makes a joke a joke. 1 by itself isn’t a joke. Neither is 2… so they kind of have to be together for a joke to even happen. So as a comic, I can still only give it 1 level. Not saying it’s poorly constructed, just no levels.
