Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were both born on February 12, 1809. Has there been a day when two people (not twins) born the same day had such an impact on the world?
🎉🍾 Big thank you to @NIGMS for funding our S10 application to support our Glacios system @KUMedicine! This award will help us support cryo-EM users in the region and beyond.
It is a true team effort with support from KUMC, @KUcancercenter, @thermosciEMSpec, multiple administrators, @CryoEM_PNCC, and so many incredible investigators. Special shout out to @djingham86, Peter Smith, and Michelle Winter for all their help making cryo-EM a reality at KUMC. 🙏
Proud to have served @KUMedicine and @KUMedCenter for a decade. I have stepped down as EVC and will retire from KU in June. Can’t wait to see what comes next! Thanks to all.

Succinct summary of what going tuition-free does for medical schools:
⬆️ selectivity
⬆️ U.S. News & World Report ranking
⬇️ % of students going into lower-paying specialties/primary care

@benhibbertMDPhD@djc795 @KUEVC_Simari Although older vessels may not manifest trauma. I do think we should ask if AMCAD might cause plaque rupture & regular MI. It’s been decades and we haven’t really figured out the plaque rupture trigger!
