Listen to my opening statement from the UAW presidential candidates debate held on Thursday. I outlined my program for putting workers ourselves in control of our union by abolishing the bureaucracy and building a network of rank-and-file committees on every shop floor.
A top UAW official has issued a death threat against me, because I'm running for UAW president to abolish the bureaucracy and put rank-and-file workers in charge of our own union.
Just two days into his premiership, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has taken British imperialism deeper into the two major geopolitical conflicts, with Russia and Iran.
Workers at Stellantis Warren Truck Plant and Bridgewater Interiors in Warren, Michigan opposed the death threat against me by UAW officer Raymond L Jensen Jr.
Will Lehman is the only candidate for UAW president who denounced the US-Israeli genocide in Palestine & called on UAW leadership to stop production at UAW plants making weapons for IOF. UAW leaders refused.
Now UAW officials are threatening to kill him. Help spread the news!!
Last week, Burnham told The Times his "priority will be protecting the UK by boosting defence spending… Our commitment to NATO and the UK’s nuclear deterrent will remain absolute." His new chancellor is John Healey, an advocate of military aggression against Russia and China.
Ludicrous rhetoric regarding a 10-year plan to renew Britain notwithstanding, Burnham must and will deepen the offensive against the working class. The world situation is characterised by an escalating global conflict to carve up essential territories, resources and markets between the imperialist powers. This eruption of militarism and its devastating impact demands ever deeper austerity, not a reversal.
Whatever temporary and tactical shifts workers’ social and political opposition may produce, the fundamental direction of capitalist politics today is shaped by the pressure of the oligarchy. This financial and corporate elite is set on a common global agenda, destroying democratic rights and eliminating social gains to prepare for trade war and military violence.
All talk of alleviating the social distress faced by millions of workers without challenging the power of the oligarchy, without mobilising the working class on an anti-capitalist and anti-war programme, is a dangerous political fraud.
A high-ranking official of the United Auto Workers apparatus and supporter of UAW President Shawn Fain has posted a death threat against me. I will not be intimidated, and this campaign will not be stopped. I call on all workers to oppose this act of intimidation. Statement below
What @woodyholtonusc "remembers" has nothing whatsoever to do with what Marx and Marxists actually wrote or said. The concept of "mere superstructure" as "froth" is an absurdity attributed to Marxism by those who understand nothing about it. 1/

@jeremycorbyn "The Socialist Equality Party’s consistent opposition to Corbyn is aimed at forging a genuinely socialist leadership and overcoming the brake placed on the class struggle by the Corbynites."

Free Ercan Akpolat, the Turkish mayor of the historic Prinkipo (Büyükada) island where Trotsky lived!
Mayor Ercan Akpolat's detention by the Erdogan government is a blatant attack on democratic rights. The charges against him are a total fabrication. Demand that he be immediately released!
