Prop firms skew your perception of trading
They make you think 15% is a small return because that’s what it takes to pass a Phase 1 & 2
When in reality, even for the best traders, it will likely take MONTHS for you to reach a 15% return
New traders get an unrealistic view of the markets based on these prop firm challenges and what they see (fake) traders posting online
Start taking trading slowly and realise that it will probably take a few months for you to pass a challenge
But once you’ve passed that, made payouts and re-invested them into more
Then it can only take about a year or less to build to $1M in funded capital - where 3-5% monthly returns can make you a LOT of money
Stop having a false expectation on the markets
Take it slow, try to aim for 30-50% a year and don’t get discouraged when you go through drawdown periods
Everyone obsesses over RR and win rate.
I don't.
The most important stat in my trading is MAE (Maximum Adverse Excursion).
MAE tells you the deepest drawdown a trade experiences before it either recovers or gets closed.
The real edge isn't finding more setups.
It's asking:
"How can I reduce MAE while maximizing Profit Factor?"
Lower MAE.
Higher Profit Factor.
That's where systems go from profitable to elite.
It was a red day for me, but it’s okay; I still closed the week in green.
Looking back at the session, I forced the strategy a bit too much without waiting for real confirmation. It's a valuable lesson in patience and execution.
Overall, I can accept this result. It was a decent week. On to the next one! 🚀
No trades for me today as I was away from the screens, but it’s tough to watch. Today’s $ES_F session was an absolute textbook setup.
After yesterday’s break below the weekly value area, we saw the ETH session build a new balance right below the weekly VAL, and inside the low volume node from Thursday. Once the RTH session opened, it broke out and reclaimed the weekly value area perfectly.

Session Review: 02.06.2026 - $ES_F New York Open Long
The Macro View (4H Chart, Top Left):
We’ve built a value area above the previous ATH. As long as the 7560–7570 (blue) VAL area holds, my bias remains firmly bullish.
30m Perspective (Top Right):
The premarket profile formed a beautiful balanced structure. I was looking for an upside breakout rather than a move down to the VAL, a thesis supported by the order flow.
Execution (5m Chart, Bottom Left & 4R Chart, Bottom Right):
Since I wasn’t sure if I’d get an entry at the session VAL, I opted for a DCA approach to build my position around the 7600 level.
1️⃣ Entry: Observed absorption just before the NY open. With the lack of initial volatility, I opened my first contract.
2️⃣ Scaling In: As aggressive buyers stepped in, I added the second contract on a pullback to improve my average entry. Tightened the stop accordingly.
3️⃣ Management: I waited for the breakout of the value area and added the 3rd contract on the retest.
Result:
Profit taking on the first two contracts at 2RR, and the final runner at 3.5RR.
Perfect session. Discipline pays off! 💪

Tough trading session today on $ES_f.
Honestly, I feel a bit lucky to have walked away with a profit, but looking back, I’m proud of the fact that I stayed rational and made sound decisions under pressure.
Before the red folder news, I started with 2 contracts: the first hit $50 profit, the second resulted in a break-even. After 10 am captured a significant absorption and engaged with 2 buy contracts. Closing the first at break-even to de-risk the position so only risk the profit from the previous trade. Finalized the day with +$95 profit after closing the last position. I don't like these conditions.

If you’re posting your trades on X
Don’t worry about what other people think - there will always be people who have something to say
If you take a trade at 3R and it runs to 5R they’ll say “you exited too early bro”
If you take a trade that goes break-even they’ll say “you should have taken profits bro”
And if you post a losing trade, well God help you 😂
Don’t take advice from random people in X comments - they likely don’t know your trading system or your rules
Let's be fully transparent not like your guru. Looking at the data: the model works, but execution and risk management still need refining. A single bad day shouldn't wipe out multiple good days. Focusing heavily on cutting losses faster and letting the wins compound. Process over everything. Target to reach at least 1.5 profit target⏳ Let's make it work. 💪
