Vale Sam Neill. He was a man of immense talent, warmth, a cheeky grin, and a sharp wit.
I first met Sam Neill in LA when I was fresh to Hollywood. My very first assignment in 1993 was covering the first Jurassic Park movie, interviewing him alongside the cast and author Michael Crichton. In 2006, our paths crossed again when I presented him with a $25,000 donation for the Prince of Wales Hospital on behalf of New Idea magazine. Like so many, I loved his films, his humorous posts and undeniable charm. He was a genuinely kind and good man. As we head into our day ahead, let’s remember his mantra for life when he said: “Failure is never quite so frightening as regret.” Sam certainly lived a life without regrets. #samneill
