@chorkins True, it was not close. But Toronto mayoral incumbents typically win by much greater margins (around 40 points for Tory, 25 for Miller). I'm not dismissing Chow's win, but making the point that Bradford's loss is hardly an embarasing one
I like Richard but I think this is off. Bradford went from ~1% of the vote in 2023 to ~40% now. He gave the Chow campaign (which is a formidable machine) a real challenge, as evidenced by its hard turn negative in the 11th hour. I don't think there will be much, if any, regret
I think there are a lot of people on Toronto’s very powerful political centre/right who are going to wake up tomorrow wondering why they went all in on that guy of all the guys.
McGill’s law school receives roughly 1,500 applications for just 180 spots.
It gave one of those spots to a convicted murderer in his mid-60s, who will never pass the good character requirements to practice, and who violated his parole multiple times.

STORY, updates to come: Edmonton former journalist Duncan Kinney has admitted to spray painting a bust of Ukrainian World War II leader Roman Shukhevych with the words "actual Nazi," then writing about it, claiming he didn't know who did it. https://t.co/Hiiaes3kx8
Literally everything about euthanizing someone who resists at present, but consented in the past is hard. We shouldn’t pretend anything about this is straightforward. These are agonizing decisions, and we should acknowledge them as such
If my advance directive says "please give me MAiD when my dementia gets to the level that I'm a burden on my loved ones", them the answer is you give me MAiD, not respond to my delirious protests.
If you don't know how to "interrogate delirium or confusion", you shouldn't be a doctor.
There is NOTHING HARD about this scenario, except if you don't understand how brains work.
