Rochdale 2nd XI’s impressive seven-match winning streak came to an end with a defeat away at Lowerhouse, as the home side produced a strong all-round performance to claim the points.

Rochdale’s bowlers continued to build pressure, led by Mo Munawar (3-28) and Usama Malik (3-50), while Zeeshan Tariq (2-49) and Omar (2-21) claimed the remaining wickets.

After winning the toss on a wet wicket, captain Zeshan Anwar made the brave decision to bat first. On a difficult surface, Rochdale responded superbly, posting 158-9 from their allotted 45 overs.

With the match going down to the final overs, disciplined fielding and a composed bowling performance ensured Rochdale held their nerve to restrict Haslingden to 154 all out, securing a thrilling four-run victory. 👏

Important late runs from Usama Malik (10), Zeeshan Tariq (5*) and Mo Munawar (5*) helped push the total to what proved to be a competitive score.

Haslingden’s reply ebbed and flowed throughout the chase, with neither side able to take complete control.
