Wisconsin's election bosses just told 1,800 clerks they are not allowed to check whether voters are American citizens. They did it eighteen days before an election.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission voted unanimously to bar every municipal clerk from using SAVE, the federal citizenship database.

The Supreme Court cleared the way for it on September 25. Wisconsin got the green light and slammed on the brakes anyway.

Their excuse is a state privacy law. Their backup plan is even better. According to their own FAQ, what stops a noncitizen from voting is that he swears he's a citizen and might get prosecuted if somebody ever catches him.

That's the whole firewall. Then it gets worse.

The same commission's guidance says ICE, DHS, and FBI agents who show up at the polls get treated like any other observer.

If a federal agency is spotted in the parking lot and isn't taking a lawful action, clerks are told to call local police to find out why it's there.

So the feds get the third degree, and the voter rolls get the honor system.

Wisconsin's Democrat primary for governor in August was decided by fewer than 4,000 votes. Tell me again this doesn't matter.

If Madison won't verify citizenship, Congress needs to pass the SAVE America Act and do it for them.

During Mak's annual physical his PCP brings up the vaccines he needs. I politely told them I have a religious exemption on file with both them & the schools. Appointment ends.

I will NOT allow them to kick my sons out of the PCP they've had since birth. That's connected to their specialist & pediatric urgent care.

- If it decides your eyes or head aren’t facing forward long enough, as short as 2 seconds, it flashes a visual warning and often beeps with a “keep your eyes on the road” message
- It also watches for eye closure ratio and head nodding

In 1992 a Cairo surgeon found a male contraceptive that worked on every man who wore it, and it was a scrap of polyester.

Ahmed Shafik ran the department of surgery at Cairo University. He took 14 healthy men and fitted each with a polyester sling to hold the testicles, worn day and night for a year and changed only when it needed a wash.

Between four and five months in, all 14 had no sperm at all. Zero. They stayed at zero for the rest of the year.

He took the slings off and waited. The counts came back, on average, about five months later. A biopsy at six months had shown the tubes that make sperm degenerating, and the damage was still visible half a year after the polyester came off.

He had already tried it on rats. In 1993 he dressed 75 of them in tiny trousers of cotton, wool, polyester or a polyester blend and left them in them for up to a year. The rats in polyester mated noticeably less often. The rats in wool carried on as rats do.

He tried dogs next. A dozen in polyester pants, a dozen in cotton, for two years. The cotton dogs were unchanged. The polyester dogs' counts fell, their abnormal sperm rose, and two of them still had not recovered a year later.

He measured the static the fabric built up as it rubbed against skin, and blamed that. Cotton built up none.

He published all of it, called the sling a safe and reversible method of contraception, and in 2016 was given an Ig Nobel Prize, the award for research that makes people laugh first and think afterwards.

Between 1973 and 2018, sperm counts across the world fell by more than half. Over the same years polyester went from a novelty to the most worn fibre on earth, 59% of everything spun in 2024, and now standard in sports underwear, gym shorts, bedsheets and the school uniform.

When Nidal Hassan is publicly executed, it’s going to be imperative that his mouth is totally sealed shut with wire or some type of a tape so that we don’t need to listen to him scream Allahu Akbar before he meets his fate via firing squad.

It would be a jihadists dream come true to be able to be heard shouting out to Allah before dying at the hands of the Department of War. He deprived his victims of their voice and so his mouth should be sealed shut so he can’t pray to Allah in the end.

We shouldn’t let Nidal’s voice be heard in his final moments when his public execution is livestreamed.

Nobody wants to listen to Allahu Akbar.

NASA's first job, before it put a man in space, was to find the meal that leaves the least behind. The answer was steak and eggs, and it has been the launch breakfast for 65 years.

The problem was the suit. A Mercury astronaut was sealed into a pressure suit, bolted into a capsule the size of a phone box, and left on top of a rocket for hours. He could not take anything off. There was no toilet, and no plan for one.

So in July 1960 the Air Force handed the question to a nutritionist called Beatrice Finkelstein. She had to feed the man so he stayed strong, clear-headed and full, for as long as it took, on the least possible waste.

She wrote a menu for the last 3 to 4 days before flight. High protein, low residue. Meat, eggs, very little else. Residue is the polite word for whatever the body cannot use and has to send back out. On her figures, beef and eggs produced almost none. The body took nearly all of it.

On the morning of 5 May 1961, Alan Shepard sat down to steak and eggs, went out to the pad, and became the first American in space.

It worked so well that nobody dared change it. John Glenn ate it. The crew of Apollo 11 ate it on the morning they left for the Moon. Shuttle crews ate it. Astronauts are superstitious, and this is the one ritual with a medical file behind it.

Look at what that file says. The best funded engineers on earth needed a food that was nearly all nutrition and next to no waste, to fuel a man through the most demanding day of his life, and they did not pick porridge.

Down here the same breakfast comes with a warning, and we are advised to swap it for the bran.

NASA ran the test in 1960. The bran is the residue.

And after all those tax increases, David Crowley is still on track to run Milwaukee County into a $51 million deficit. He’ll tax and spend Wisconsin into the ground.

the reason.. regulators wanted to know if rocket noise at Vandenberg would stop seals from breeding.. Elon says the seal count there kept going up while launches went up

Starship hit the same wall.. the FAA had already said yes.. but the rocket still had to wait for Fish and Wildlife to work out the odds of it hitting a shark or a whale in the open Pacific
