There is a contained security situation at Rochester General Hospital. There is no active threat to the hospital. The Rochester Police Department is on site and conducting an investigation.

Team members and the public should continue to park in the Carter Street Garage until tomorrow morning.
The hospital including the Emergency Department, remains fully open and operational. Patient care is not impacted.

The Portland Ave parking garage at RGH is closed for the remainder of the day and will reopen tomorrow morning (10/30). Cars currently parked in the garage can exit.

The garage has had a full structural assessment and engineers have verified its integrity is intact. Out of an abundance of caution, some sections will remain temporarily closed as cleanup continues.

UPDATE: Portland Ave Parking Garage fire at RGH
Earlier, a fire was reported in the Portland Ave Parking Garage at RGH.
Thanks to a quick response from the RFD, the RPD & first responders, the fire has been contained and there is no immediate risk to others at this time.

• The Portland Ave Garage is closed until further notice.
• All patients, visitors, and team members should park in the Carter St. Garage.
• For vehicles in unaffected areas, we are working to safely escort people to their cars.

Like many others nationwide, RRH is facing an IV fluid shortage due to Hurricane Helene's impact on Baxter's NC facility.
