(And because this is college basketball, we followed this awesome moment with an hourlong video review and back-to-back timeouts to make sure that every last breath of oxygen was sucked out of the game.)
So sad to hear of the passing of Wayne Swinney from Saliva. They were one of my favorite bands back in the college days, still love their old stuff. RIP Wayne.
Is there one metric you can point to that favors Virginia over Duke? One more quad 1 win? Which it should be noted was the result of an officiating error the league had to apologize for. And they still had a lower NET rating.
*at worst. Sadly, I don't know what the answer is, because there's no recourse for these officials in any sport, so they can continue to be terrible and nothing changes.
Good for him! The more guys that call this out with a "I know I'm going to get fined and I don't care" attitude means that maybe some of this officiating tomfuckery will stop. Every sport I've watched since the calendar has flipped to 2023 has had some SUPER egregious shit go on.
I don't want to be cynical and say it's because of sports betting becoming legal or something like that, but the fact is, officiating has become just incompetent at best and straight up corrupt at worse at this point.
I saw a sales advice bit the other day that said if someone doesn't pick up, call them back immediately and supposedly, there's a better chance they will pick up. I just had this happen to me and can assure you the opposite is true with me.
