As part of Government’s continued commitment to modernising Ghana’s transport sector, I had the honour of leading a delegation from Metro Mass Transit Limited on a working visit to CRRC Corporation Limited in Zhuzhou, China, to explore strategic collaboration towards transforming Ghana’s intra-city transport system.

Our engagement focused on the study and potential development of an Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system aimed at improving urban mobility, reducing traffic congestion, and providing safer, faster, and more efficient public transportation for the people of Ghana.

This initiative reflects the vision of H.E John Dramani Mahama and Government’s broader commitment to repositioning Ghana’s transport sector through innovation, strategic partnerships, and sustainable infrastructure development.

The Ministry of Transport Ghana remains fully committed to working closely with stakeholders and partners to deliver modern, reliable, and accessible transport systems that will improve the daily lives of Ghanaians and support our national development agenda.

On Wednesday, I held a highly productive meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi.

Our discussions centred on a strategic partnership to transform Ghana’s energy landscape. We have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the oil and gas sector, with a specific focus on UAE investment in storage facilities within Ghana.

We discussed the need to diversify our energy portfolio, aiming to reduce our dependence on crude oil and achieve long-term energy stability through cleaner, alternative sources.

We also addressed global security, and I firmly conveyed Ghana’s solidarity with the UAE regarding the complexities of the Middle East conflict. We are united in our determination to see a swift end to hostilities so the world can focus on sustainable development, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence.
