@SoozUK I was so bad in primary school in 1947 that the teacher put me in a ‘Children’s Newspaper’ national handwriting contest. Result: the pain of staying after school to practise, the humiliation of not even an ‘honourable mention’, but best of all my decision to print for ever more!
Proud to support @cmckenney for our next mayor. Catherine knows how City Council works, supports smart, green development, has a fully costed program that prudently uses our tax dollars, & will continue to stand up for all to make Ottawa an even better place for everyone.
Please join us in #Ottawa on Sunday, November 13 to rally in defence of Hassan Diab against further injustice! #France may seek to extradite Hassan again! https://t.co/A67mZsXQrS
You may not be paying attention to who is running for school boards trustees...but you should! The far-right is running candidate who are making our schools more dangerous for queer, trans, and racialized youth @antihateca https://t.co/12NQKQ7cqi
After #HassanDiab freed from French prison for lack of evidence and proof of alibi, French appeal court shamefully ordered new trial. Could lead to another extradition request. Please sign petition!
Our petition to ensure #Canada does not accept another #extradition request has surpassed 7,000 (including French signatories)! Please help us get MORE. https://t.co/5LIMWtjyOT
Hassan Diab was extradited from Canada to France on 13 November 2014. He was kept in solitary confinement for over 3 years. He was never charged or tried & was released in January 2018. Inexplicably, France has announced that he will be put on trial in Paris in April 2023. 🇨🇦
According to the Canadian government, November 30th, 2019, marked the end of solitary confinement in Canada. Yet, people in prison continue to be placed in solitary confinement in a variety of ways, in contravention of their Charter rights.

“The fact he's not this blemish-less person, he's got this dark background, and yet, the Court accepted, notwithstanding that, protection from torture is more important than the person he is and what Canada did to him is deserving of condemnation.” https://t.co/6Hlf88O2Vm
Happy Labour Day 2 workers in Canada & internationally!
Later this fall, we r launching Labour Against Apartheid campaign, to deepen Palestine solidarity in 🇨🇦 by empowering workers & unions to support Palestinian liberation struggle - Stay Tuned for details! #canlab#LabourDay
I just voted against the government’s budget bill because I can’t support spending $25 billion on highways when we are in a climate emergency. It would be more fiscally responsible to spend that money on healthcare, housing, poverty and climate action. #onpoli
We'll help families who refuse to pay hospital fees for ALC patients who deserve home care, and staff who refuse to comply with orders to transfer seniors to private LTC homes where they will suffer.
If civil disobedience is the way #Bill7 gets stopped, we will be there with you
