“An Act relating to college sports; enacting the Oklahoma College Athletic Conference Act; providing legislative intent; defining terms; establishing the Oklahoma NCAA Division II Athletic Conference Exploration Commission; providing for membership;providing for chairperson; requiring certain study to be conducted by commission; requiring submission of report; authorizing commission to contract with independent consultants; authorizing commission to consult NCAA; requiring submission of final report; creating the Oklahoma NCAA Division II Athletic Conference Exploration Commission Revolving Fund;authorizing certain expenditures; requiring commission to explore certain funding sources; providing for codification; and declaring an emergency.”

Two things I want to tell Representative Moore:
1️⃣ RUSO Regents have failed our regional universities financially for the last 10 years and we are falling behind the schools in neighboring states in multiple facets of college athletics. Facilities being at the top of that list. After reading the bill, people will want to know where the funds will come from to catch up to other schools and how the schools will not fall further behind by not being in nationally recognized regional conferences.

2️⃣ The ‘Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference’ is already the name of the JUCO conference in Oklahoma so another name must be chosen.

I commend you for authoring this bill. I’d be more than happy to help in any way I can to make this bill happen.
