For decades, doctors believed damaged cartilage could never grow back. Once it wore away, the only fix was pain relief or joint replacement.
Now that idea is changing.

Scientists are testing an injectable gel that turns into a soft scaffold inside the joint. It helps guide the body to rebuild cartilage naturally. In early studies, the body’s own cells moved in and started repairing damaged areas.
