I see lots of news of the "church service" that took place Monday on American Idol, and a bunch of people got warm fuzzy feelings but did anyone actually turn to God?
Reminds me of 2 Tim 3:5, about people in the last days: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof
@mnwickens That’s what Apple Music is for me on the Mac still! I don’t subscribe & have the streaming part turned off. So there’s no ads, no subscriptions, and I manage all my own music files & plug in my devices to sync like we were doing in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. It’s great!
I haven’t had to fill the car w/ gas since Monday, & didn’t pay attention to any pricing changes recently.
So… color me completely sticker shocked when I had to fill up today for regular unleaded at 4.84 PER GALLON!
Yikes! I’ve NEVER had it this high in my regular home areas!
I know CH Spurgeon is a well known name in many religious circles. However, I never studied or read much of any of his writings or sermons. Just doing more now, and given all I’ve heard of him, I’m a bit shocked that he’s a… Calvinist? Or a Baptist? This is new to me…
@PreacherBo Every “liberty” has a cost - the cost of this liberty is the earnest study and application of the Word of God upon our standards. If more studied it, there’d likely be less ambiguity around Christian liberty.
(Also… I was VERY tempted to add “biberty” in there…)
@PaulChappell This is such an important thought even to those that have dealt or still deal with anxiety and fight with their thoughts on past sin, and their current standing with Christ. Such grace Christ gives! Amen.
Happy Earth Day! 🌎
Be sure to use plenty of lighting today to keep all your events well lit!
Drive a little extra if you have the chance to enjoy the earth we were created for!
Any projects you have outside that you need some power tools for? Get those power tools running!
@mnwickens Amen to that. There’s a lot about creation that can be shown through science. Not necessarily observable in the original form, but we can see the effects in modern day.
One point to consider in creation is the event horizon, and it’s movement. A lot flows around this concept.
@JosiahHawthorne Christians don’t “insist”. You can believe whatever you want to. But the truth is found in the timeline of the Bible. About 6000 years is consistent with all the accounts in scripture.
