President Trump has consistently been who we saw from the podium today. Despite his excruciatingly consistent behavior many - some reporters, people who host tv shows, elected officials and people who voted for him have worked to sanitized his comments along the way and tell us he’s changed.
He hasn’t.
May today be the day folks accept him for who he is and stop pontificating about whom he could become with just one more experience!
Jimmy Carter‘s presidency is extraordinarily underrated. But this is a good time to tell my favorite personal story. I was an advisor to the Carter Baker commission on election reform. At one of the meetings, President Carter asked if I would have lunch with him. 1/
Hey, media.
When an incoming dictator says, even before his coronation, that he's tamed you, that means you have utterly failed at every aspect of your jobs.
Since rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, our Administration has delivered on the most ambitious climate agenda in history.
On the 9th anniversary of this Agreement, we celebrate the power of global partnerships as we build a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous world.
BREAKING: Republicans pushing Trump to ELIMINATE the IRS's Direct File program -- which allows you to file your taxes online for FREE
Why would anyone want to get rid of that?
Because giant corporates like H&R Block and Intuit (Turbotax) want to make you PAY MORE TO THEM
🧵We're a few weeks post-election, and people are starting to ask, "What's next?" I don't know yet, but I've had some time to reflect. And here's what I do know.
First, our team gave it our damn all. Were we flawless? No, because our campaign wasn't meant to be. /1
Women know that men don’t scheme to “dress like girls” to assault them.
They do it every day in broad daylight. And the ones in power protect each other to keep it quiet.
Just ask the House Ethics Committee. Or the President-elect of the United States.
Leave women alone.
@jmpalmieri Joe took a thumbs up picture with the convicted felon who tried to overthrow our government. So, no, no “faith and trust.” This is “obey in advance.”
I was thinking about Tim Walz being rejected by repub/green/independent voters. I'm really disappointed, angry, about why so few post election think pieces were written about him. Kamala is a massive personality who drives news cycles but something is off about Tim being ignored
To have the best economy in the world, you have to have the best infrastructure in the world.
The Biden-Harris Administration is delivering that future.
75 million people voted to dismantle this country.
This is not about the price of gas, bread or milk.
75 million voted against their own families and children and women and children throughout the world.
They want white, male, unrestricted power.
Rachel #Maddow , "People owe it to the country to make what they're doing right now hard. If it is easy, they'll do it more. That's where we are right now. That's the clarity of purpose we all have and how to try to save the country from further autocratic slide."
Donald Trump ran on identity politics.
He attacked women, Black people, Latinos, immigrants, Haitians, Trans, LGBTQ all while upholding whiteness, specifically white male dominance. He didn't discuss any policies, "concepts of a plan".. he dodged media & dropped out the debate.
64 years ago, in the face of protests and violent threats, 6-year-old Ruby Bridges bravely walked into William Frantz Elementary School, becoming the first Black child to integrate an all-white school in the South.
May we always remember Ruby's courage and live by her example.
This election wasn't lost because Dems doubled down on "wokeness", it was won by Republicans because ⚪️ folks doubled down on whiteness. The Senate seats we lost were ⚪️ men who i dare you lie and say they gave "woke." If people like James Carville want the Dems to throw the base under the bus, then stand on it instead of gaslighting and rewriting what we just witnessed. #RolandMartinUnfiltered #reeciecolbertshow
