@slattfri@Mediaite@EliseStefanik Considering she listed the WH and Democrats separately, one would have to assume she was referring to her fellow Republicans…
@ProudSocialist No, they shouldn’t. We can afford both. We just can’t get a majority to support the other.
Meanwhile an ally is being invaded and killed. You don’t stand on the sidelines for that because the rest of the do nothings in congress won’t vote for helping people here.
@anthonyzenkus This is a bad take. The peaceful response to an ally under invasion is not to turn away from them.
Helping someone defend themselves is not pro-war.
No political faction in America distorts reality quite like the Bernie Bro Left. Imagine hearing the statement "$2,000 checks will be going out the door immediately" and interpreting it to mean $2,000 checks would be going out the door immediately.
“Targeting” checks isn’t just bad for people, it’s bad policy too! It’s not humane, it's not smart, it’s not effective, and it’s not even fiscally responsible. Not to mention that it doesn't meet the scale of this crisis.
Help me spread the word about 4 obvious reasons why:
@RBReich President Biden cannot directly fire DeJoy, however he could fire the postal board of governors for cause, cause being the deliberate destruction of the Postal Service, install a new slate of governors to the board, who could in turn fire DeJoy.
Some of the same folks who said “defunding huge PD budgets & shifting $ to schools is too hard to explain” are now saying “Well $1400 is actually $2k if you recall the $600 from a diff president, carry the 1- yes I know ads showed $2k checks, but thresholds-”
Just help people!
Rep. Dean Phillips: "I'm here tonight to say to my brothers & sisters in Congress & all around our country, I'm sorry. For I've never understood, really understood, what privilege really means. It took a violent mob of insurrectionists & lightning-bolt moment in this very room."
A homeless guy asked me for money today. I looked in my pocket and all I had was a $20 bill. "Do I really want this money going towards drugs"?, I thought to myself. "Nah"! So I gave him the $20.
@rrusseygo @PatTheBerner Except they didn’t say that during the campaign. We already had the $600 and they said $2000 after the win. You can try to justify it, but it’s a losing argument to those who will be voting on whether a promise was kept. You can be damn sure the gop will hammer it home.
@PatTheBerner It’s insane to me that Dems can’t see the damage they’re doing to the credibility of the party in not keep simple and straightforward campaign promises.
Senate to-do list:
1. Abolish the filibuster and pass COVID-19 relief for our communities.
2. Convict Trump.
3. Legislate like Democrats control the White House, Senate, and the House of Representatives. Because we do.
