Director Cristian Mungiu on Sebastian Stan being so handsome that it became a problem when casting him for ‘FJORD’:
“I wanted to take this to the edge. To make people see a different character; not only in the way he embodied this very religious person, but also in the way he looked. I'm sorry to say this, but he's a very good-looking guy [laughs]. I always have this problem with him. And this distracts you from seeing that he can be so possessed by the part. And we came together at the end with this idea that the more distant he looks from his regular self, the more the people are going to see the character.
Yes, it was important for me that the name of Sebastian was there, because without him, we couldn't have financed this film, to be honest. But at the same time, it's important not to exploit that he's so good-looking. I was looking for his talents, and he gave us the opportunity to see what he can do.”

Sebastian Stan answers what he learned about Hollywood after playing Trump in ‘The Apprentice’:
“Um [Laughs.] It's quite hypocritical in a lot of ways. Everybody has good intentions, I think, about saying the right things, but they don't always do the right thing. I'm not saying it's gaslighting, but there's something to it, because there's often times you end up asking yourself if you're the one that's crazy.
There are many times — and I'm not saying it was just related to "The Apprentice" or Trump — there are other things even now where I've been in rooms and talking to people who will say things in private that they will never say publicly.”

so impressed by how interesting and creative the individual emergencies are for this volcano storyline. like yeah there's lava but tell me more about the service dog who went to get help for his owner and the doctor who's talking a probie firefighter thru his first loss: herself
