The topographic survey for the American city1 project has been completed, and the following plan will be established:

* Soil Testing (Boreholes): After completing the soil testing for buildings (B1, B2, C1, C2), the testing process will continue with a scheduled mechanism ensuring continuous and consecutive work on-site without stopping.

* Major Excavations: Implementing a sequential excavation plan to handle massive quantities exceeding 1.3 million cubic meters with high efficiency according to a continuous timeline.

* Central Concrete Batching Plant: Placing and equipping the central mixing plant (batch plant) within the project to ensure the speed and continuity of supply.

* Concrete Works: Linking the pouring of blinding concrete and foundations to start consecutively and directly behind the excavation phases to accelerate the construction pace.

* Smart Infrastructure: Utilizing topographic map data to make immediate engineering decisions, and synchronizing the design and execution of "Smart Infrastructure" networks in parallel with the project's progress stages.

* Wall Construction: Commencing the execution of the large boundary walls for the project.

* Opening Roads: Starting to open and pave roads within the project.

All these project steps will be launched together soon according to the approved plan.

The American company AUG is preparing to begin implementing the “American City” project in the city of Qamişlo in the coming days, after completing the approvals and technical procedures

The “American City 1” project is a large real-estate development planned east of Qamişlo, covering an area of 310 dunums.

It includes 35 residential towers ranging from 10 to 33 floors and 350 villas (earlier announcements mentioned up to 800 villas in total). Educational facilities consist of an American kindergarten, school, and university. There will also be a hospital, a commercial mall or sector of about 40,000 square meters, a hotel, a media and arts tower, and various recreational components.

Around 70 percent of the site is designated for open and green spaces, including the planting of approximately 50,000 trees, seedlings, and roses. Infrastructure features include a sewage system with water treatment, central gas, 24-hour electricity (with significant reliance on solar power), filtered water, smart-home systems, and surveillance and security systems.

The project is expected to create more than 2,000 job opportunities, with the company aiming for about 80 percent local workforce. Residential units will be offered for sale with installment plans lasting from one to six years.

First Kurdish department at Beijing Foreign Studies University in China, starting in Autumn 2026

Students will study the Sorani dialect during their first three years before studying Kurmanji in their fourth year, allowing graduates to develop a comprehensive understanding of the main dialects of the Kurdish language.

Kurdish students will travel to China to pursue their studies, plans are also in place to bring Chinese students studying Kurdish in Beijing to the Kurdistan Region, where they can engage with the Kurdish social and academic environment and further develop their language skills.
