President @KagutaMuseveni will tomorrow, Wednesday, unveil the official commercial name of Uganda’s crude oil blend at the Kingfisher oil fields in Kikuube District, marking a defining milestone in the country’s oil journey. The identity will position Uganda’s crude for entry into global markets and strengthen @UNOC_UG's expanding role in marketing it to international buyers as Tilenga, Kingfisher and EACOP projects advance towards production and transportation of the country’s first oil exports.

Improving house hold income for every family in Bamutakudde is top priority for my administration.

Today we hosted Kyampisi Subcounty & Ddundu Parish leadership in Bamutakudde to break down the Parish Development Model. Govt has allocated UGX 4.4 Trillion for PDM in FY 2026/27 and every parish is to receive UGX 100m.

I mobilized our residents to understand how to organize, register & turn this opportunity into household income. We learnt about the 7 pillars of PDM. When people know, people grow.

We also learnt about other government programs including the Youth Livelihood Program, SAGE for the Elderly, the Women fund, etc.

Special thanks to the Parish Chief, the Community Development officer and the Community Fisheries officer.

I say this as a university lecturer who has not remained in the comfort of lecture rooms and journals.

I teach. I publish. I supervise students. But I also build companies, test materials, develop products, work with contractors, set up production systems, train technicians, own mineral licences, and try to move knowledge from the university into industry. So I fully understand the frustration when academia looks disconnected from society.

But publications are not the enemy.

A publication is how knowledge is tested, recorded and shared. Many of the technologies we celebrate today began first as research before they became products, industries and jobs. The problem is not that professors publish. The problem is that we have not built strong enough bridges between knowledge and production.

And here is where I think we must be more honest. Our commerce does not sufficiently reward production. It often rewards importing, brokering, trading and distributing more than it rewards designing, manufacturing, testing, improving and scaling local products. In such an economy, even good research struggles to become industry.

So yes, let us demand more impact from universities. Let us ask professors to engage society, industry and government more directly. But let us not pretend that counting publications is the root problem. The deeper problem is an economy that has not created enough pathways for knowledge to become products, enterprises, standards, policies and jobs.

We need professors who write, and we need professors who build. More importantly, we need a country that rewards those who turn knowledge into productive value.

Rwanda & the DRC lost the argument about Africans dealing with their issues without American/Western involvement/interference the moment their number one citizens went to Washington & sanitised their involvement in the matter.

So, the response to Rubio saying they’ll deal with Rwanda now can't be one of saying they’re meddling in African affairs. Both Rwanda and the DRC had the option of staying away from American involvement until their Ministers of Foreign Affairs & later presidents flew all the way to Washington over the same issue.

Personality ; Sekidde Martin story

In August 2019, sekidde Martin arrives our offices without an appointment something I discourage always. We have work to do obviously.

He patiently waits and I discover he had dawn a nice portrait of me( picture one) and he wanted me to buy it and I told him, I plan my finances and I don’t use emotion to buy stuff.

I was curious about his life and we started chatting about it and he says, just finished my A levels and since I do art, I want to use it to raise school fees for university. My mom can’t afford paying for me, he adds!

Again, I tell him I won’t buy his piece since I wasn’t prepared to spend on it and since I earn a salary, I have many obligations. I tell him, since I have a big army on Facebook, I would write about him on it. My obligations are so many .

We took that first picture and I wrote his story on my wall, I told him a talent will always open doors and since he chose to use it, I would also use to tell his story. I was impressed he didn’t come to beg, he had something to offer.

Anyways, I write about him on my Facebook page, his story was liked by many people and the art piece added so much attention. And I knew something would happen.

A few people call him to do art pieces for them but a lady he calls mom Irene who happened to be my follower, offered to pay half his school fees and he went to Nkumba and luckily he was offered a place to study art.

One other follower of mine calls him and asks him to do an art piece of President Paul kagame and as they chatted, wife was mama Samalie, they offered to pay the other half of school fees . I told him by 3rd year, he should be able to pay school fees for himself since he is talented which he did. Got this story today.

Anyways, today he arrives at office with a big art piece again for me plus all his qualifications and he told me how God has been good. He told me about his future dreams and I gave him a few thoughts as usual. He was so grateful.

I told him, I have been involved in many people’s lives, only one in very many will come back with a gratitude. Told him, it’s a great attribute. Being grateful is such a super tool for humans. We must be grateful to God but also the people God uses.

My main advice and my main observation, what did China ultimately do? It invested relentlessly in the future and it invested in three ways. First, in the skills of the population. So, the educational standards in China soared over a period of 40 years. Second, it invested in the physical infrastructure. All that I've been talking about of the tens of thousands of kilometers of highquality infrastructure. [And] third, it invested in innovation and business development so that its companies are in the forefront of the world.”
