The Geezers and a very special guest – the Pearly Queen of Islington, Phyllis Broadbent – popped into The Common Room for a cup of tea and a trip down memory lane this week.
But not before tucking into some pie n’ mash on Roman Road.
It doesn't get more East London than that!!
A brilliant piece from @RomanRoadLDN about The Common Room!

It's The Common Room – 5 Ford Road, E3 5NS. And a huge thank you to Action for Bow for funding this project!
We held facade design and tile-making workshops last year to hand-press the clay tiles for the facade.
If you look closely at the tiles, you'll spot images reflecting the local area and its rich history.
In early 2020, we crowdfunded to rebuild The Common Room to ensure it is a lasting asset to the community. Exciting news – it’s ready to open its shutters!!
Thank you to all our amazing supporters and funders who've helped us reach this milestone!
You might be thinking the colourful tiles are looking particularly fab! Well, that's thanks to ceramicists Simeon Featherstone and Anastasia Sledkova from PC-Projects, artist Veronica Rowlands, pupils from Old Ford Primary and you - the people of Roman Road!
