Media reports that apparently the American pendulum doesn't even swing to "sanctions in 2w" but again to "Ukraine giving up the entire Donetsk region to russia". Ukraine won't accept this suicide plan.

Its bottom line is that russia is pushing so hard to get what it couldn't conquer in 11y, aiming to achieve a military breakthrough with American hands.

Exactly what russia wants — to gain a better strategic battlefield position and erase the morale of the Ukrainian military and society. Not peace, as the peacemakers try to convince everyone.

1. From a military perspective, Donetsk is the best-fortified region. Giving it up would immediately expose other regions to russian offensive. russia wouldn't stop the war after taking Donetsk; it would use it as a springboard for the next waves of conquest. Moreover, that would have an irreversible impact on Ukraine's morale: the fiercest and bravest battles were and are in the Donetsk region — now give all that away for free?

2. Genocide. While the American peace-dealers casually trade land here and there, any territory is first and foremost home to people. Ukraine won't surrender its people to russian genocide. We know what happens under occupation: torture chambers, kidnapping of children, forced disappearances, and mass graves. Our hearts bleed for people we still can't liberate. Giving away more people to genocide will not happen.

3. Ukraine is a democracy. Ukrainian people won't accept any suicide plans, and President Zelensky knows this well. The latest cardboard protests showed how sensitive Ukrainians are to justice. Surrendering to russia has nothing to do with justice.

4. Violation of international law. What russia is pushing — and what America seems ready to help with — is a rewarding of the aggressor, rewriting the borders of sovereign nations not only by military conquest (which is already a huge violation of the rules-based world order), but by large nuclear powers declaring territory that belongs to others as their own and then coercing a smaller nation to give it up in the name of 'peace and unicorns,' of course.

Europe must stop waiting and hoping for America to bring peace. That's not coming.

The only way to achieve peace is to help Ukraine defeat russia NOW.

With this decision, President Trump is sending Russia a clear message: bomb, kill, and you’ll even be rewarded with impunity.

At a time when Russia’s aerial terror against Ukraine and its shadow war against NATO countries are both escalating, pressure on Russia’s war machine must be increased to the maximum. Easing sanctions means fuelling the war.

This is truly a historic moment. President Trump has indefinitely suspended sanctions against Russia that would have been required in the Graham law. He went against the last request of Lindsey Graham, whom he called his friend. And he handed Putin the opportunity to finance the war against Ukrainians, who are fighting for their freedom.

Trump calls this a "national interest." But diesel prices went up because of his war against Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. So waiving sanctions on Russia does not solve that problem. Instead, it creates another one.

Putin cannot win on the battlefield, so he attacks civilians. Russian missiles and drones are destroying homes, hospitals, schools, and churches. According to the UN, just two weeks of October have been among the deadliest for civilians in Ukraine in recent years.

Forty percent of Russia's budget goes to the war. After Trump's latest decisions, Russia will make record profits. The formula is simple: "Money turns into missiles. Missiles turn into civilian deaths."

Trump is not stopping Russia's war against Ukraine. Trump is helping Putin win it.

As a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, I want to address the people of America, regardless of their political views.

Do you really believe that the killing of millions of people and the loss of Ukraine's independence are in your national interest?

If not, what will you do to stop America from financing the genocide that Putin is waging against Ukrainians with Trump's support?
