President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah today received Letters of Credence from newly designated Heads of Diplomatic Mission to the Republic of Namibia, reaffirming the country’s commitment to sustaining healthy and mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
The diplomats who presented their credentials were:
• Ms. Florence Chepngetich Koske-Bore, High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya
• Mr. Philip Khwae, High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana
• Ms. Edwige Koumby Missando, Ambassador of the Gabonese Republic
• Mr. Philip Hewitt, High Commissioner of New Zealand
• Mr. Roland Beridze, Ambassador of Georgia
• Mr. Aidan Fitzpatrick, Ambassador of Ireland
• Ms. Karima Bardaoui, Ambassador of Tunisia
• Mr. Amedi Kamara, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania
• Mr. Hoang Sy Cuong, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
• Ms. Dienabou Saifon Diallo, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea
Of the diplomats who presented their credentials, only the High Commissioners of Kenya and Botswana are resident in Namibia, while the rest are non-resident Heads of Mission accredited to the country.
The presentation of credentials is a formal ceremony through which ambassadors are officially accredited to serve as Heads of Mission in Namibia.
During the ceremony, President Nandi-Ndaitwah underlined the importance of maintaining and strengthening diplomatic ties, noting that the occasion offers an opportunity to deepen existing partnerships and explore new areas of cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development.
In their remarks, the Heads of Mission expressed their readiness to work closely with Namibia to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of their countries.
