As AI companiesuse @Wikimedia data what does the community get in return, how do we ask for the support from these companies without actually selling something? @Wikimania#wikimania2026
They said “leave your mark at Wikimania,” so we grabbed brushes. 🎨
Now we have a mural that’s basically Wikipedia… but with more colors and fewer edit wars. 😉

@SceniusHub community manager Mr. Abraham Makuach and I had a productive meeting with Emad Ahmed, a Sudanese theatre director, writer, and producer who has worked on over 50 plays and shows in Sudan. Like many others, Emad fled the conflict in Sudan earlier this year and found refuge in Juba. He is now channeling his skills into establishing the Scenius Hub Drama Group, a multicultural theatre ensemble that will hold monthly performances focusing on various social issues and introducing theatre to our diverse audience.
The contribution of the Sudanese community, who have come to Juba due to the war, has significantly elevated South Sudan's art and culture scene. Scenius Hub stands as a testament to this collaboration, as we have wholeheartedly welcomed Sudanese creators and artists. Their wealth of experience has been crucial in maintaining the Hub’s consistent output. The arrival of these creators is fostering a cross-cultural pollination that will lead to a rich blend of artistic expression, the full impact of which will unfold in the years to come.
Starting of #WikiIndaba2024 with a great line of incredible women on the role of media in information integrity& the importance of digital literacy. Patriarchy patterns are back although women tend to focus on & understand the gaps about women on wiki & tend to fill those gaps.
