Under 18 U.S.C. § 2387 (Advocating overthrow or disloyalty in the armed forces). It is a crime for any person, including civilians, to willfully advocate or attempt to cause:

• insubordination in the armed forces
• disloyalty among service members
• mutiny or refusal of duty

It also criminalizes distributing materials intended to encourage those outcomes. The penalty can be up to 10 years in prison and fines.

My Dad and Mom, Irish Catholics, had retired to Kingston, but then we were told: he was dying. A fast-moving cancer was killing my father.

They sent him home for the last time. I wasn't there, that day, but my parents called me.

My Mom: "Warren, your friend the rabbi is out on the street, in front of the house."

Me: "Mendy? What is he doing?"

My Mom was crying. "It looks like he is praying," she said. "His hands are reaching up. I think he is praying for Dad."

He was. Mendy Z. drove all the way from Montreal, alone, and went to pray for my Dad's life.

That was Mendy, and that was my introduction to the humanity that guides Chabad.

Waking up to the news of yet another night of gunshots fired into synagogues, this time over the Sabbath.

Call this what it is: an attempt to terrorize the Jewish community.

Synagogues are places where families gather, where seniors pray, where children learn. Targeting them with gunfire is meant to spread fear, intimidation - and yes, terror.

It is disgusting and sadly becoming commonplace in Canada.

Those responsible must be found, prosecuted, and made an example of.

And in the meantime, there must be increased police patrols and protection around synagogues and Jewish institutions immediately. Everywhere.

Jewish Canadians should never have to fear walking into their place of worship.

Time for governments to stop being “shocked” and “appalled” while send “thoughts” and ��prayers”.

This is what Jewish school children were subjected to yesterday whilst playing in a football match.

How revolting.

Students from London’s JFS were playing in Norwich in a quarterfinal match in the U15 Schools Football tournament against Thorpe St Andrew School, when they were allegedly subjected to these vile abusive chants from the opposing team’s supporters.

It appears that the concerns raised about the chants were not dealt with at the time of the incident, and so the complaints have rightly been elevated to the police.

There is no excuse for this kind of outrageous and potentially criminal behaviour.

We urge the police to investigate and any offenders must face the full force of the law.

The school too must probe what has happened and take urgent educational steps. Our Education team is ready to provide assistance. We cannot allow tropes like these to become normalised in British schools.
