Allow only authorized users to invoke an AWS Lambda with a UI straight from your docs with 4 lines of code and no deployments? Insanity! https://t.co/WFVDYyLUvc
@alexbdebrie@astuyve@JackEllis When I've needed to hit sub 100ms, I've used bare metal or fargate as an auth/throttling fleet and primed the connections before putting the host behind ALB. There isn't anything lightweight enough yet to hit 100ms cold when querying redis from lambda. Rust maybe.
@DavidWells The way it's implemented with a different console subdomain per account/role makes it significantly easier to manage cookies and do correctly tho.
@tpschmidt_@sandro_vol Yeah, it won't be a lift and shift. You can't use libraries, you don't have network and it is a limited subset of JavaScript. I'd recommend working backwards from an example and use kvstore if you have many lookups. Some links: https://t.co/SNHAtlHqqt and https://t.co/0guKvoYhoG
@theburningmonk@dreamorosi I don't think I ever got it working with fetch (just axios) but that was over a year ago and many things have changed. I'd start here and look at the details of the xray fetch package: https://t.co/WQtpuOdJYh
@nathangloverAUS The taxi is a fixed rate from $21-$29: https://t.co/kD3wGZ5vkU and the CX bus will take you to/from the strip for $6 if you're looking for a few other options. A rail would be nice though!
@wtfjoke Fast can't be diluted ๐ ! I see others posting to 3 sites and am confused where to interact. So I'll make it easy for you and pick ๐ง๐ชฝ for my day to day brand, but post blogs to ๐ง๐ชฝ and ๐๐จ because it's longer form content.
So long Twitter, thanks for all the democracy! I'll probably lurk, comment and like here still, but if you are jonesing for my troublemaking, candid hat shots, serverless content or ๐ facts, follow me on the double winged site or the beyond stoked site.
@aarondfrancis This is motto material right here. "Why!!!? BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME!!!!" It also explains the essence of why a perfect reverse 18 wheel parkjob deserves a primal nod.
@astuyve Fair, but I'd call it a year not years. The last features are from reinvent 2023. Still seems low risk to me, you can get the lower price today and fall back to fargate/ALB if they sunset.
@Eidivandi Yep! Even with integration tests, my hunch is there's probably a few seconds before the first invocation. Lambda team would have the data on time to first invoke, I'm just dreaming out loud here ๐.
Lambda should just do a proactive initialization after deployment. Seems like a simple way of getting rid of 1 coldstart, I always invoke soon after I deploy.
