Counting down Test runs until Root overtakes Tendulkar (15,921) | Anything non-cricket should be taken as a joke | Not affiliated with any player or body
The three fellas who operate this account have also occasionally used it to engage in conversations about their other interests, football, politics etc. which was fine when we had 15 followers but now it’s ticked over 200 we’ve agreed to stick to Sport from now on
@Philip_RJ89@ECB_cricket Just a side stat to this, Durham are unbeaten in tests at the Riverside, only a sample size of 6 but it’s still a favourite stat of mine
The difference between sports coverage by Sky Sports is so stark. For Football it is the most rage baiting, triggering nonsense.
For Cricket it is the best coverage anywhere and I would argue it is the best sports coverage in all the sports we show in the UK.
@GraemeBandeira@LBC I don’t understand it Bandy, when any other politician so much as lays flowers at the scene of an atrocity they’re accused of politicising tragedy, yet here’s someone explicitly politicising someone’s death against the families wishes and somehow gets very little backlash
@Capt_Fishpaste Do you think not going to the World Cup is a good thing for him? Stops the risk of him getting injured or attracting even more interest from elsewhere, but may also convince him he needs to move on if he wants to be at the next one?
@DH1PubCrawler@_toosb How? A player who played in 56/57 went on to be managed by Bobby Robson, Milner was also managed by him and has gone on to play until this past season, Robson doesn’t have to have managed in either of those seasons to have managed players playing in those seasons
@SAFCPaddy Mad isn’t it, you can guarantee Barca think of them the same way Man United think of Cluj “oh yer we played them a few times” sort of thing, but they reckon there’s some sort of kinship
@ben366486451371 In fairness they probably didn’t get many penalties given against them at OT, also Peter Schmeichel only saved two in his Man U career and is one of the greats of his era
@AdamFulwell_ I have sky for their cricket coverage which is excellent, when family come round to watch it for football it’s so poor, at one point last summer they were asking influencers about man Uniteds transfer policy, no way id pay for it if footy was my main sport
@Jackie_D1990@RubyQNUFC Of course it is, if they won it they’d be calling it the “super cup” within minutes, like they call the league cup “the cup” to make it sound like the FA cup
@DannyTaylorDT Bloke at work suggested clubs from the top five leagues only be allowed to field a certain number of non-academy players across a two legged tie, not sure what I think about it tbh
Genuinely think leagues getting the extra UCL space via coefficients should sacrifice their conference league as a result, give them places to the highest ranked clubs which would normally have to go through qualifying rounds
Europa Conference League essentially exists for the purpose of English clubs winning it. The financial gap between an English club and the rest of the competition is insane. You won’t see anyone other than an English club winning it for a long time
