We’re excited to be in Mombasa, Kenya, for the Amani Pamoja Exchange Programme, joining young peacebuilders from across East Africa and Europe to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance community-led peacebuilding.

Peace is not simply the absence of conflict, it manifests as justice, dignity, and communities with the power to shape their own future.

For the past four years, @JusticeUg256 has shown me that peacebuilding begins at the grassroots… through non-violent resistance, community organising, and amplifying the voices of those too often left unheard. Every community dialogue, every story documented, and every act of solidarity has reinforced that lasting peace cannot exist without climate justice, accountable governance, and respect for human rights.

As this journey evolves, we are excited to see the birth of @RootsnRights a youth-led institution dedicated to advancing environmental justice and community resilience through grassroots organising, frontline storytelling, protection of environmental defenders, and strategic partnerships that place decision-making power where it belongs… with communities.
I look forward to learning from fellow young leaders across Africa and Europe, sharing Uganda’s experiences, and building lasting partnerships for a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future…
