In the past younger creatives were given room to grow but that didn't happen, so they moved online. They still felt choked by toxic nostaliga, and that led to Analog Horror: an almost literal horror of the past consuming the future
Kane Parson's Backrooms movie is the crowning gem of this philosophy and will change nothing
I watched most of Kane Parsons work this past week. Rewatched the Backrooms, which was great. However, The Oldest View is probably the best ARG/youtube distributed found footage film. Not some kind of puzzle box, but rather a lyrical and haunting horror film.

Which makes this film’s existence so funny considering the director worked at Illumination and co-directed three of the Minions movies.
DANDADAN SPOILERS: One hurdle shounen romance enjoyers have to overcome as that side of the genre approaches the dramatic complexity of shoujo: just because a story beat makes you feel bad, doesn’t make it “bad storytelling.��� A good emotional roller coaster needs a few big drops.
