Husband, father of 3 sons, W Province, Glasgow Warriors, Scotland & Bok supporter. I love rugby, MTB, running, cinema, theatre & music. Comrades Green No. 42743
I love the Durban beach parkruns (there are two) the day before Comrades! Our people arrive singing, two ‘choirs’ merge, the singing continues, and they will leave singing! #ProudlySouthAfrican@parkrunSA @ComradesMarathon
We don’t hate the South African government enough!
R4.45 billion pension fund investment in allocated to 15 companies, gave returns of -100% not even a cent was accumulated from these investments 😳😳😳😳.
I have received serious allegations that certain SAPS members stationed at Philippi East SAPS may be directly or indirectly involved in taxi business interests.
The allegations concern a sergeant, another sergeant, and a constable at the station. It is alleged that some of these members may themselves own taxis, and that one member has been linked to a taxi bearing his own name.
Serving police members cannot simply run or control taxi interests while policing communities where taxi violence, intimidation, extortion and organised crime are constant risks.
If these interests were not properly declared and approved, it is not lawful. It is a conflict of interest and a direct threat to public trust in SAPS.
I am formally reporting this matter to the National Commissioner and the Minister of Police, and I am asking SAPS management to verify ownership, check declarations, investigate possible outside remunerative work, and determine whether any SAPS authority or access was abused.
Good police officers must not be tainted by members who treat the uniform as cover for private interests.
There must be a proper investigation and consequence management where wrongdoing is confirmed. IC
Sing Bheki, sing. Don’t let us hold you back. Chose your pitch, and sing away. We’ll be taking notes. Let all them skeletons come crashing out the cupboard. Can’t wait.
Oh dear @DadaMorero it seems the cat caught your tongue there. Once again, it’s easy to say the Mayoral Committee found it best (easier?) to leave the investigations and questioning to the police. I mean, why would you bother to enquire about large stashes of cash, found in your JDA - CEOs possession? It’s easier just look away for as long as you can. Digging too deep, might just uncover stuff that implicates him or his cronies. It’s simply easier to look away.
Glasgow Warriors captain Kyle Steyn has become the first player to be supported through an Executive MBA programme, after securing a place on the prestigious course at @StrathBusiness. 🧑🎓
The opportunity has been made possible through a unique partnership between Glasgow Warriors and long-standing club partners, @UniStrathclyde and @DenholmEnergy.

We first met when we were 8 years old.
Neither of us could have imagined where that friendship would lead.
Through childhood memories, life’s challenges, difficult decisions, setbacks, victories, and countless lessons, @CharissaSchoem1 and I have walked this road side by side. Together.
Today, we are proud British citizens and grateful to call Scotland home.
The tweed jacket I’m wearing in this photo carries a story of its own.
My Oupa bought it in Edinburgh in 1989. Before we left Southern Africa , he gave it to me and said:
“Let it live the life it was meant to.”
At the time, I didn’t fully understand what he meant.
Today, I do.
It is more than a jacket. It is a reminder of where I come from, the values I was raised with, and the legacy of faith, resilience, integrity, hard work, and gratitude that was passed down to me.
Over the years, I have learned that the toughest climbs often lead to the most breathtaking views. The decisions that stretch us are often the decisions that shape us. With faith, perseverance, and obedience, challenges become opportunities, turning points become breakthroughs, and breakthroughs become miracles.
Looking back, we can clearly see God’s hand in every chapter of our lives.
Looking ahead, we remain hopeful, excited, and deeply grateful for what is still to come.
Most of all, I am grateful for my wife, @_C_harissa my best friend, life partner, and business partner. Together we have built a life, pursued dreams, overcome obstacles, celebrated victories, and embraced every opportunity that came our way.
To every friend, family member, supporter, colleague, client, and follower who has been part of our journey thank you. Your encouragement, kindness, prayers, and belief in us have meant more than words can express.
From two 8-year-old children with dreams in their hearts to proudly calling Scotland home, this journey has been extraordinary.
More than anything, I hope this moment honours my Oupa.
The journey continues, and we believe the best is yet to come.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed Proclamation 316 of 2026, authorising the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to investigate allegations of maladministration, improper or unlawful conduct, and to recover any financial losses suffered by the State in the affairs of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
The arrogance of Letsoalo is astounding. His orange overall time will come: ‘We want to clean the government': Scopa votes to charge former RAF CEO Collins Letsoalo https://t.co/GUc9mVvV6y
This is a great article. It highlights how weak leadership reduces oversight. And weak oversight cascades into the erosion of controls. Once procurement controls are weak, corruption and fraud opportunities open up - an issue the ANC struggles with. https://t.co/HCMy3siv5N
