Busy start to May for our volunteers
Over the past few weeks we’ve provided cover at athletics, a hurling match, Scór All-Ireland, Darkness Into Light, Lough Key Legends, the Connacht Final, our first race meeting of the season. ⚽️ 🐎 💙💛
Yesterday, we held an Evacuation Centre exercise to support the rollout of the new Department of Defence SOGs. Thanks to all participating agencies and to Dublin Civil Defence for their equipment and support.
What a brilliant weekend out on the water in Boyle. Our boat crew and medical team were delighted to be on hand to support Carrick Carer’s Day and Swim Ireland Always a pleasure to be part of such fantastic community events. 💙👏

Medical cover was provided at Strokestown Show on Saturday.
On Sunday, our boat crew assisted Leitrim Civil Defence at Lough Rinn Dragon Boat Regatta
Thank you to all volunteers for their continued support.
Saturday, medical and water safety cover was provided in Lough Key for Carrick Carers Day.
Tonight medical cover has been provided at Strokestown Park for an ABBA tribute concert.
Additionally, our boat crew responded to a call out today for a cruiser that had run aground.
Duties this weekend

•Sunday medical and water safety cover in Lough Key for their annual Triathlon.
•Monday we went to the races
Yesterday, we assisted @CivilSligo, with the Warriors Run.
On Saturday, medical cover was provided at Roscommon Pride.
On Friday at Éire Óg GAA Club, volunteers showed some children the ambulance.
Today, medical and water safety cover was provided for Swim Ireland event.

On Saturday, medical cover was provided at Roscommon Agricultural Show.
Then, on Sunday, Civil Defence provided medical cover at Roscommon Sports & Classic Car Club in Strokestown Park House.
This week saw a break from our duties. We use this time for some boat training.
Massive congratulations to Brian and Michael for completing their powerboat certificate this week.
Today, some upskilling on the boats was completed.

It is with deep sadness that we received the news , of the death of 3rd officer, volunteer Junior Hannon.
A true gentleman, the most dedicated and reliable volunteer, we were so lucky to have had him in Roscommon. He will be greatly missed by all.
May Junior Rest in Peace 🙏

Our SAR Team undertook PUWMA Sonar Operations training this weekend with our colleagues in @roscivildefence. The course was facilitated by @MariteqS and @CivilDefenceIRL College
We were also delighted to help out our local scout group with transport for their Beavers summer trip
Yesterday, medical cover was provided in Hyde Park for the qualifer game between Mayo and Dublin.
It was great to see a crowd in the Hyde. Well done, Roscommon GAA and everyone involved.
Today was the case for the volunteers being in the right place at the right time.
While carrying out routine boat training, a request came from AGS to assist a boat that had engine trouble. The crew out training responded immediately and assisted the crew on the boat.
