I run NMR of before and after of evaporation of hexane and they came out exactly the same despite the fact I evaporated my product for more than 5hours 😭

We run our experiment in cold temperature/ice, and it seems to be working so well. We will be running our NMR on Monday. Hopefully we get better peaks this time🤞🏾

We doubled the amount of acetyl chloride, and halved the amount of diene to see if we get more products. Fortunately we can see new peaks on the NMR now😁

We tried out different procedure by eliminating hexane and making methanol our solvent and evaporating but we got the same NMR as our starting material.

We changed the procedure a little bit today. We used methanol as our solvent instead of hexane. We can understand our NMR results better now with the hexane out of the picture.😁🫡

We let the reaction spin all weekend and vaporize it all day today and I’m running the carbon and proton NMR🫡

Just learned how to use the evaporator machine to take some hexane off the product and I run NMR for several hours😢 But they’re looking pretty good so far!!
