@DrKeithAEvans We are officially releasing for the first enrollment period in March! Students can register starting this Saturday ( lectures should follow on the app soon).
@proginosko@j_newheiser@MichaelCarlino Fair enough! I was thinking more along the lines of a "thought of Van Til" class like @GraySutanto has a "thought of Bavinck" one. But maybe I'm among the few CLT students that wants more Van Til, lol
@ReformedRap I had a pastor of several years be caught in adultery, who also manipulated and abused people in his church. It's shuttering. By my mind and heart ran to "Let anyone that thinks he stands take head lest he fall..." 1 Cor 10:12-13
@xtianherring Not only does God not throw children out in the NC/NT, He explicitly includes them as He always has! I was overwhelmed by this when I wrote a paper on the NC in the OT from the prophets for a Cov. theo course.
@BobKellemen From my understanding, Van Til saw Bavinck heading in the right direction but not going far enough. A point of Keith's is that there seems to be a reversal going on where the distance from Rome/autonomous reason is decreasing rather than increasing in the BC movement.
@BobKellemen Noting my other comments to @jasonkovacs, I'll certainly give a re-listen but I did not perceive/receive it the way you have (I was there). Certainly, these things are worthy of scholarly debate. I am hopping to write a paper this semester that allows me to enter into this more!
@jasonkovacs@BobKellemen and therefore, if a return to Bavinck (whom I love to read myself!) means any type of closer proximity to Rome/autonomous reason, then it is not a good direction to head in. I am hopping to write a paper this semester that allows me to dig into some of this more!
@jasonkovacs@BobKellemen I'll need to give it a re-listen but I understood his point in terms of a trajectory - a "if these principles continue to be followed down the road, this is where they're lead." I think VT understood Bavinck as not departing enough from Rome/autonomous reason.
