Rossbrook House is open every day for ages 6 to 24. Children & youth can drop in and always find someone to play a game of cards with or pool. There is also daily scheduled activities & weekly outings.

The Learning Always program runs twice a week at @Rossbrook It includes help with spelling , math & special activities like learning how to bead with a loom. The participants also receive reading assistance from #volunteers.

#FBF Since Sr Geraldine MacNamara’s death in 1984, she has received many posthumous awards, including:
1985- Sister MacNamara Park
1986- MacNamara Hall at the University of Winnipeg
1997- Inducted into the Citizens Hall of Fame at Assiniboia Park.

Youth from Rossbrook House had a Lighthouses outing to St James Memorial Sport Park that included lots of outdoor fun, plus Slurpees and snacks! #Outings are a part of the weekly #programs provided to @Rossbrook participants.

@Rossbrook holds a lot of #memories for me. We were adolescents when the nuns took us to a pow wow. None of us knew how to dance like our ancestors. Thru dancing & educating us, we reclaimed our #culture.

Children & youth were guided on how to pick medicines, showing them how not to detach from the root so that the plant can continue to grow. They enjoyed the beautiful weather, the wide-open spaces, and learning a new skill.

#TBT Programs have varied over time as the interests of the participants have changed. The doors remain open each weekday for after-school programs and 24 hours every weekend and on all school holidays including spring, winter, and summer breaks.

Today we pay our respects to survivors of the Canadian residential school system. On Orange Shirt Day we applaud Phyllis Webstad who bravely shared her experience with one particular piece of clothing- and is why we wear orange today.
