Another stream of consciousness thought. Get AI to generate a list of prior references that should have been cited (we all miss some of the 30,000 out there). This would even be helpful to the authors.
(1/2) Here’s an idea that needs consideration and refining, particularly for perovskites. All manuscripts accepted after peer review have a grace period of 1 year where researchers can submit legitimate concerns, that themselves get peer reviewed or sent straight to the authors.
(2/2) the authors can revise based on reviews or receive an * for unreconciled, peer review agreed upon concerns/complaints. After 1 year the period ends.
This seems particularly important for accelerating the fidelity of AI training.
Is it a thing now that journal editorial staff will make edits to figures before publishing online and without telling the authors about the revisions? This has happened twice recently that I know of.
