Since the beginning of #COVID, I've thought the multitude of #smallbusinesses that are critical to the downtown ecosystem, are most at risk and fear many won't be open when everyone gets back to the #office. Thanks @VancouverSun for the quotes. https://t.co/f1nPsAQ0Tt
No doubt there's been a shift in the office market. Not fully back, but a whole lot different than even 3-months ago. Industrial on the other hand just gets more insane. Don't hesitate to reach out w/ questions. #officespace#warehousespace#cresa#vanre https://t.co/3WRMI1cM3Y
Formally partnering with Hickey [a market leader in site selection, location strategy, labour analytics, and economic incentives advisory] is big news for #Cresa. Hickey's client list is a who's who of blue-chip companies. Should be interesting. #Analytics https://t.co/qM6TcJk8Ql
Another quarter and more records for Vancouver's #industrial market. Vacancy down, #rents up. Repeat. Hard to come up with superlatives that do justice to current conditions. #cresa#warehouseforlease#vanre https://t.co/z8xZTnPn0L
With leasing activity notably lower, it's tough to get a good read on the market, but there are now tentative signs the #office market has hit bottom. Whether there's a quick snapback is up for debate. Check out #Cresa's Office Report. #officespace#vanre https://t.co/uUKJKyzXnr
Another lackluster quarter for Vancouver's #officespace market, while the #industrialleasing market continues to shoot the lights out. #cresa#vanre https://t.co/VnsFFKg0Bp
Certainly interesting times. Office vacancies are sure to rise further, but it would be a mistake to think Vancouver office towers are about to empty out. As usual, the reality is more nuanced. @VancouverSun thanks for including @Cresa in your article. https://t.co/GaIcbtZdNy
Year-end numbers show what many of us already suspected. Warehouse good, office bad. Occupied office space shrank by 639,000 SF in 2020 (compared to -769,000 SF in 2009), while industrial gained by 4.2 million SF. Same expected for 2021. #vanre#cresa https://t.co/MLdmu0EcJn
Haven’t seen any (large) Vancouver law firms “ditching” space - yet. But a few have just renewed where they are. Going forward, will be interesting to see what the lawyers decide to do. #officespace#wfh#vanre https://t.co/cStd7NxKLX
Using AI to analyze earnings calls (very cool) reveals corporate CFO’s are about to take an axe to #realestate costs. Yet every #landlord I hear talk says au contraire. We’ll have to see. #officespace#vanre

Outstanding office space in one of North Vancouver's premier office nodes. Minutes from the Ironworkers Bridge, and an abundance of local amenities. Parking at no additional cost. https://t.co/HkVrb4JnMf
While not a standout quarter, Vancouver’s #industrial market put in a solid showing during Q3. COVID-19 fears seem to have abated, and now things are back to normal - kinda. Very different from office and retail. #warehouse#commercialrealestate#vanre https://t.co/FPM5tItmHv
While always dangerous to make projections during a crisis (this time a health crisis), but assuming only a modest giveback of space in the next year, the downtown #office leasing market is set to post double digit vacancies (10.1%) by the end of 2021. https://t.co/llYBCQ56Lh
I could pull lots of great quotes from my colleague's article, but I particularly like "The pandemic has provided a welcome, & in many cases, long overdue evaluation of the “9 to 5,” five days a week, at your desk, work" paradigm. Indeed, long overdue. @Cresa_Chicago#OfficeSpace
The future of #office space: Can you all be in the boat if working remote? via @REjournals. According to @Cresa_Chicago's Allen Rogoway, the answer to the question “What is the future of the #workplace?” has been right in front of us all along. https://t.co/SJgZmKIGIX
Deloitte UK is going from 50 to 46 offices. As office leases expire look for many companies to give careful consideration to whether they should also rationalize their real estate footprint. #workplacestrategy#remoteworking#OfficeSpace https://t.co/P8BjLUFAR1
Kudos to Robert MacDougall and the @CresaCalgary team. After almost 2 years, the former Calgary Sun building has been sold to U-Haul. Interesting change of use. #warehousespace#locationlocationlocation https://t.co/uinnIibgSc
"Office vacancies up sharply". No big surprise, but with Q3 in the books we can say the #downtownvancouver vacancy rate more than doubled YoY, from 2.2% to 5.3%, and during the quarter increased by 1.6 percentage points. Double-digit vacancy rates a near certainty. #OfficeSpace
Maybe the best line in the article is "The open office tried to improve the office-work status quo; the "dynamic workplace" has to convince people to even bother showing up." Thanks @JackBurns21 for sharing. #officespace#officedesign
Despite being an "Ottawa" article, it's worth noting the Federal Government is Canada's largest occupier of #officespace, & as such, any move to reduce its footprint would have a sizable impact on many CDN markets. @cresa_ottawa#vanre#wfh@globeandmail https://t.co/FT2awy2DC8
