If patients are on long term medication and are concerned, book a medication review with their GP and have the conversation about whether the drugs are necessary - but don’t stop taking prescribed meds without discussing with a healthcare professional @HelenRCGP @BBCNews
@WeNurses If it's a 10k around parliamentary buildings protesting the lack of funding and support for nurses and the NHS, count me in. We need a system change now!
Today I met these inspiring health workers. They haven't had a pay rise for three years. So, they're taking industrial action to change that.
It's only by working collectively that we bring about real change in our lives and our society.
@WeStudentNurse I find "I can't right now because.." is a really good way to say no in nursing because it clearly explains to the other person that you have a valid reason and helps me feel justified in saying no so that I don't stress about it later.
If you're worried about someone, try to get them to talk to you. Don't worry about having the answers. Just listening to what someone has to say and taking it seriously can be more helpful. More advice here: https://t.co/zuNfCWgu32

@NursingConvos@WeNurses@LeanneHPatrick By treating everyone equally = gender equality. Don't expect our male nurses to do things that you wouldn't a female nurse to do, and vice versa.
@NursingConvos@WeNurses @maxwele2 We absolutely need to speak out! I am running for the RCN council in NI because I want to see nurses stand together against injustices. The bristol stool chart can't begin the explain what we're wading knee deep through at the minute and we need to work together to get out.
Self care is crucial in nursing. For me this means self talk as if I was speaking to a friend and not as my worst critic. Also support from friends and family and being open about my challenges and times when I feel overwhelmed. It's okay to not be okay.
Nurses are crucial to empowering people to #selfcareforlife, the @SelfCareForum is inviting nurses to start preparing for #selfcareweek free resources are available to help. https://t.co/9RKlRWdy8U
@Emily_Knox@ShuAdultNursing@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject Good luck! I learnt a lot on my all male urology placement. Admissions, pre and post surgery, discharging and plate-spinning all of those at once. The more you get stuck in, the more you'll get out of it! Remember, you're still a student so ask to see the surgeries etc!
Vote in favour of forcing Government to publish documents about why we’ve been prorogued and the Yellowhammer document on No Brexit impacts has just been won - 311 votes to 302
@MattHancock@sajidjavid When #studentnurses are leaving nursing after they've qualified because the nursing environment is so harmful, what makes you think this will make a difference? More support, more freedom, more nursing wellbeing, more pay, more staff.
Thousands of us have taken to the streets across Britain to fight for democracy, stop the self inflicted disaster of No Deal - which has no mandate and will hammer working class communities - and to fight the injustices that caused today’s turmoil.
