This Rohingya woman said that she and her children survived, but her husband was killed by the Arakan Army (AA) on August 6, 2024, while he was waiting at the beach, trying to escape to Bangladesh.

I met a father who lost all five children in a single day while fleeing for safety. According to him, they had to flee due to AA drone strikes in the crowd of innocent civilians. His son’s final cries, 'O baa, save me. I am drowning,' still echo in his heart.
Situation in Buthidaung
❗️In recent days, the Arakan Army (AA) has ordered two villages — Sein Hynin Pyar and Hpon Nyo Leik — to provide them with at least 100 Rohingya youth. This is a forced conscription. In Hpon Nyo Leik, the AA threatened that the village would be burned down if the youth were not provided.
❗️In Ward 5, young children above the age of 10 are abducted every day. Most children are hiding at night. Families must pay at least 8 to 9 million Kyat to avoid forced conscription.
❗️The people in Ward 5 are in a tough situation. If they pay 1 million Kyat to the AA for food, they receive food commodities valued at only 0.5 million Kyat. The prices imposed by the AA are at least triple.
Breaking News 🚨
Rohingya Under Attack in #Maungdaw: many people have gathered in Hañri Para and Shidda Fara. AA is directly bombing and using drones there, similar to what they did in the massive gatherings in Buthidaung. AA is targeting the #Rohingya, not the Junta

“There are credible reports that Rohingya in Buthidaung have been targeted in attacks by the AA. There is a very real risk that these attacks could escalate further,” -- Yanghee Lee, the former UNSR on Myanmar & founder of SAC-M

Forced conscription by any armed group must be condemned. People must have a choice, and their basic human rights must be respected. Forcing underage individuals into conscription is a war crime. #RohingyaNeedProtection
8. The curfew hours, announced by the Arakan Army (AA), from 7 pm to 6 am, constitute arbitrary detention. If they aim to protect the Rohingya, they should refrain from using Rohingya villages as battlefields. #RohingyaNeedProtection
1)After the Myanmar military forcibly conscripted Rohingya youths, the Arakan Army (AA) also compelled Rohingya youths to join them. Both groups will deploy Rohingya on the battlefield, leading to Rohingyas fighting each other at the frontline? #RohingyaNeedProtection
7)Another round of genocide is underway. Both the Junta and the Arakan Army (AA) are committing serious crimes against the Rohingya. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) should order additional provisional measures. #RohingyaNeedProtection
