Thank you to everyone who is discovering our Galaxy Quest doc, Never Surrender! Your kind words truly mean the world, especially right now! The two of us thought we may go nuts sometimes, but it was a privilege & joy to make w/ @MaxDionne (& many more). https://t.co/xO0RoDa21I
What if we could tell the story of how America got to where it is today through the lens of Superman and the US’s oldest hate group’s contrasting (invented) versions of “The American Way”? Well, that’s exactly what we aimed to do with our 5 ep, serialized docu-podcast.
On spotify (but avail everywhere):

Pls listen in order :).
Huzzah! I’ve worked on this for a while in the background, and after a couple of delays, I’m excited to share it now.
Thank you so much to my co-host Marc Bernardin and everyone who worked on this!
I hope you’ll have a listen, let me/us know what you think, and hey, leave a great rating and review if so inclined.
PS - Sound up for the trailer! PPS - I am rarely here anymore: how ya doin'?
Jane Eugene, a beloved R&B artist, needs our help now more than ever. She’s facing deportation and her health is at risk. Please donate and share to support her fight for justice. https://t.co/0pQkumkPtP
@led31180@JoshuaYehl@TheEricGoldman@JimVejvoda Thank you for asking. Very kind. We're okay. Lost power for a bit, but it came back in relatively quickly, and the air quality is tough at the moment. Mostly very concerned/heartbroken for others. Still watching, but thankful conditions seem to be getting better. TY!
We voted! Here's how and why...
We are 1000% aligned in our values. The truth is, there are serious problems and tragic failings in our country and globally. We want to see real change and, in whatever way we can, are committed to doing the work we can to create that result.
I have concerns about our system of government, and how it is currently functioning. I understand anyone who has similar thoughts and deep feelings about any number of issues.
The plain reality is, there will be no way for us to work towards the changes we'd like to see -- or for anyone to do that -- if we are in a system where dissent is suppressed, under a President who threatens to use the military against protesters. (This is just a reality. He's been open about it, as has his running mate.)
One where overly wealthy corporate leaders and Oligarchs suppress editorial voices in opposition of said former President before he's even in office, because they know they will face retribution from him -- and not from the other candidate.
One where groups of people who are equally extreme and disconnected from day-to-day reality, and (in some cases) far, far more strategic than he, act as the actual driving force to bring us toward (what is at its base) a theocratic system that is a fundamental betrayal of the vision of America.
One which in practice (in terms of the laws they enact), is deeply out of step with what the majority of everyday Americans want and need.
That is to say nothing of putting erratic and inexperienced people in charge of "purging" a bureaucracy, leaving real expertise at the wayside.
Pragmatically, this is not a path for America that works for us in any real way.
I could go on about just how unthinking some of the ideas are.
Just one example: EM (who would be in charge of the bureaucracy) openly supported the idea that their plan means our economy will "necessarily" crumble for a few years and everyday people will be forced to struggle at poverty-level incomes in order for it to "be reformed." (In his image, I guess?) Well that's easy to say from a lofty philosophical throne as a person who's never endured the pain, fear, and deep loneliness of real financial strain.
I have, and I don't want that vision for myself or anyone I care about.
My concern about the choice we have is real and stark.
(I made a 5-episode docuseries about it... Maybe you've heard me mention ;)).
I've been phone banking for, donating to (as much as I can at the moment), and have voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
I respect everyone's right to their choices, and I genuinely believe that if we want to have an America to fight for, this is the absolute right one.
People used to say "America love it or leave it." There's a third choice: "Fix it."
We can only do that if we are empowered to do so.
@chubs1889@davidscottjaffe@SupermanOnFilm Thanks for the shoutout! Definitely love you all to have a listen/share, share alike!
You will hear some eerily familiar phrases.
Yeah, it's one and the same! It's called a podcast, but it really is an audio doc with about 20 expert interviews intercut with a narrative/story told by Marc and myself.
Re social media Antartica - mostly on me... However, one day I'll tell the story of how odd it is that TT removed two separate comic book influencers videos on the pod... twice. They were never able to post about it.
It is! It's an audio docuseries. I've been relentleslly posting about it -- but I've been in social media antartica for the last while, so... :) - it's a limited-series, five ep, docupod that really is about how American identity was invented and disseminated via media... It's avail wherever you listen to podcasts. Here's a spotify link: https://t.co/OqNoD6w9sr Would love your thoughts!
