@TeacherTired4 @IntegrityTeach I'm a former teacher of 14 years, and I now work in a different field with zero educators. It is possible! Keep at it. ๐
Also, I didn't miss having the summer off. Turns out when work isn't traumatic, you don't need months off to recover.
Tell me why teachers are working at McDonalds after work hours as a fundraiser next week. I just... so many things wrong with this.
@McDonalds teachers deserve a break today. Don't you think?
If we want 18 year olds to be functioning adults upon graduation, schools need to prepare them to function in the world. It's time to flip the core in secondary education and prioritize career skills. #EdReform#FunctionalEducation
@flyingmonkey13 Create a chart of all the things your teachers have to do, with input from your department heads and surveys. Then, write down the average time it takes to do each task. Total it up. Compare it with teachers' contract hours. Then, balance them. Teachers will love you.
@sstorm01@SjTanner79 I let go of the anxiety when I realized it wasn't my fault admin gave teachers too much to do during contract hours. I prioritized my responsibilities. I worked hard during contract hours. At the end, I left, done or not. It made a world of difference.
A teacher friend told me that yesterday was the first planning she had all year after starting in mid-August. The stress of the year on her face and body is already evident.
Teachers are not okay. ๐ It's time to step up and fix this.

@MadiSP4321 My favorite was "Put your oxygen mask on first"... I eventually did and left education. Unsurprisingly, I feel I can finally breathe again after 14 years.

Did you know adults are more engaged and effective when they feel valued and their strengths are focused on. I guess adults also work harder for those they trust and know care for them.
